I think the overriding point and sentiment in this thread is that there is actually a group of people, IN OUR GAME, that would organize to disrupt what is basically a charity event and the dying wishes of a real person who happens to love Elite Dangerous.

Your post reminds me of this long appropriate sentence whenever people are failing to see the forest for the trees...

"Well other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

There is a more modern term... Its called TONE DEAF.

The UA Bomb has been dropped.
It can’t be un-dropped.
A permaban is an excessive precedent if, despite it being despicable, within the game.
I think a Meta-Alloy run to fix it, and the perpetrator to wake up in Trevithick Dock with a Sidewinder and 10k cr due to an ‘error with the save game’ would be wholly appropriate.
The game goes on, Enigma repaired and a Commander ‘has an accident’.

I edited it ryan. I've had 3 people die and and 2 others scrape by in my life.

As far as the "Toxic behavior" goes, no one rain drop thinks its responsible for the flood, but they all play their role.

But I can own I'm a little toxic at times. Can you?

That's what I'm getting at, did anyone bother to check if he actually wants any of this? Or do a significant bunch of people feel that because someone is sick they need swaddling? Total speculation, but I'm willing to bet a lot of the supporters I've seen are the kind of people who, when they find out someone is sick, start treating them as less. Speaking slowly and loudly as if they're deaf, asking them if they need things that a child would. Or demanding special rules in video games, as many have. If the dude wants special rules, then whatever makes him happy is the way to go. Concern for cancer dude's wishes is sparse in these threads, it seems the majority is a selfish outrage. Nothing gets the blood pumping like righteous internet anger that requires no responsibility.

Instead of bickering how about people put their idealogy and differences aside and do something positive. Show the morons that even though we all enjoy different playstyles from murder hobo to care bear that some things go beyond that.
