Not saying you're wrong or anything but today was the first time I ever encountered this particular term. Maybe I led a sheltered life for the last 50 years...
Daedalus? You kidding right? So wrong of you to post that right now
Could be a regional thing. Common slang in both So Cal and Seattle where I grew up and apparently the UK where I believe Dove E is from.
I only heard about this because of the UA bombs.
Donated 20 of her majesty's finest pounds to a good cause.
I wish the cmdr all the best and hope that the community can fix the problem for him rather than a deus ex machina.
lots of interest and buzz around this event now so there is a view that the UA bombing upped the profile of the event somewhat?
Well, we'll see. At least one poster in this thread has already said they've been in touch with contacts in the media. If I were an FDev manager I'd be praying right now for a major earthquake somewhere populous.
BTW, anyone think UA bombing will still be something people can do this time next week?
Why would anybody blame FDev? Yes they could have done things better, but all is not lost. I still think devs will do what they can - will it be by overturning UA-boming, or helping in other in-game ways, time will tell.If I were an FDev manager I'd be praying right now for a major earthquake somewhere populous.
I have. Why don't you take advantage of that Winged Hussars' station they left unprotected with their meta-alloys reserve moving to this public spirituous event? How so? I'm helping...you have a problem with that?
Haha, typical stuff by Charlie Hall.
I'm not a griefer, but can't stop laughing right now.The griefers must be ecstatic right about now.
The silver lining I guess. I just hope any reports on this in the gaming press don't dig too deep into this thread. Some of the comments in support of the griefers are beyond embarrassing and I would hate to see them quoted in the main stream press.
Contrary to what the people who posted those remarks might think... Their comments are not going to be viewed in anything approaching a positive light by the general public.
I've lived in Seattle for 39 years. That is not common slang here. You're just making things up.Could be a regional thing. Common slang in both So Cal and Seattle where I grew up and apparently the UK where I believe Dove E is from.
Not only that but how many live streams need to be sniped or how many community events need to be tampered with before people think to defend their events? It's like leaving your car unlocked with the windows down and acting outraged when it's stolen. Of course it was ua bombed. Who wouldn't guess that would happen. IT ALWAYS DOES, so defend your crap. Bring some ma's along and attack cmdrs hauling ua's. But this will go on deaf ears. It's going to happen to the next event and there will be another thread calling for fdev to magically fix things and ban people.Let's be honest here, If this makes the nationals the managers at FD would be over the moon, free advertising .. even bad press is good for a game.
And yes UA bombing is not going away because of a fringe event. It is a part of the game, which is kind of the point here.
Yes it was distasteful, but if it was done within the fair context of the game (I.e - not an expliot) it's fair game no matter how you look at it .. Did GTA take out hiring prostitutes, and then killing them to get your money back? ... nope.

You do know what is said about everything that comes before the 'but'?
I know what some people say about everything, should I care about this kind of people? You do know what is said about everything that comes before the 'but'?
Yes! It's my game, do it or I'll run away to Solobius!Wait....are you telling me how to play my game?
This was NOT a legitimate in-character act of aggression. There's nothing legitimate about this.
This is an obvious case of harassment: a real person dying of cancer. A real person. There are no in-game excuses for this. No in-character reason for it. They did it to troll a dying man and the community; they did it for the giggles and for the real-life infamy, to hurt people on a personal level.
It doesn't matter that the mechanics exist in the game, what matters is the INTENT. They did it on purpose to harm human beings, not video game characters.
It's low. It's despicable. No excuses. The trolls must be banned, period.
