Engineers 3.0 : Someone has something nice to say

 whaaaaat??? This is amazing. screw you Broo tarquin and Professor Palin, you weird little hermits. I'm never coming back o/

yeh you are, secondaries are now special effects, and you can't get top rolls without secondaries and you can't get special effects remotely.

What I think I'll probably be doing is roll to the top of grade 4 in the field, then head to the engineers. Which is ok, because you need to visit them to change the blueprint that's pinned. In the case of DDs and FSDs, maybe even distributors, you probably won't ever change which blueprint is pinned, but weapons...? And resistance boosters?

It is a nice boon, but it's really not that useful unfortunately.

Well done FD....you listened :)

For the IMO mandatory engineering like FSD and Thrusters this will be a huge time saving if you can remote engineer a blueprint from 1-5.

It will also be a huge benefit for new players that don't already have everything and can only engineer as materials come in.

People just can't be happy with anything. If FDev add something QoL improvement, some one come and tell you it's pointless, useless...
What you described takes 2,5 Hour: First not everyone have JumpaConda (I have 2 Conda, none of them exploration), but 8 jump to Palin ~15 min, transfer drive ~1 Hour, engineer then ~15 min back, call back your drive= another 1 Hour waiting. (btw it's easier if you put the engine on the Conda and fly with there and back)

With the new system, i buy my new Chieftain/Type 9, fly to Farseer, pin blueprint, fly to nearest Station remote engineer to G5 Dirty, fly back to Farseer for experimental, if really need (not for a trader). My ship is ready with G5 and happily flying to the next engineer or to my business, when you just en route back to home(or even just waiting for the module), and still an Hour to call back your module! But yes, I am sure it pointless. (and you really want to transfer a module to Palin and back? Seriously? That's 2 hour waiting from around Sol, even faster to go out with a low jump range ship)

You dont do it for one module.
1. Farm materials
2. Buy modules for the ships that's going to be engineered
3. Last thing before bed/work/logoff, fly out to palin in cutter/conda and order all the drives
4. Log off
5. Next time, engineer and fly home
6. Transfer back engineered drives.

Most of my ship have not visited anny engineers. You only need a big and a asp:)

Okay, well that is a shame but quite understandable as a mechanic. If you want top tier then you have to actually work for it. I'll probably still have things like FSD and DD pinned though because at present I own many ships that have nothing. At least you can get a little bit of engineering done on ships that you otherwise wouldn't bother with.

That's a good point. In my case I think it would be still a waste of time. I have 14 ships, all of them engineered more or less, not all top engineered. Once I pinned the Dirty drive, I can re engineer them whenever I'm using it, and have materials for it. Half of my fleet is in the Pleiades, so doesn't really matter anyway :p, but the rest just not worth the time/money to transfer, also if I buy a new one.
