Sure, I'm as ready as I'll ever be. By the way, I don't have any issue with gankers, you're content just like everything else as far as I'm concerned, no salt here, I just wanna make a name for myself as a decent pilot.

Get a ship that survives for 15 seconds and quit to the main menu every time you get interdicted. That's the evilest thing I can think of.
It's been stated already today that this behaviour is not to be encouraged on the forum. The menu log is for emergencies when you have to leave the game. To use it in another way, while not against the EULA, is frowned upon by FD and against the spirit of the game. What's more it makes you no better than them. If you are going ot log out when you get attacked, why not just play in solo?

Only a moderator, but still, the spirit is clear. Menu logging without a valid real life reason is almost the same as combat logging (spiritually it's exactly the same, except that the attacker has 15 seconds to "git 'er done"). My personal moral compass indicates this to me as well.

Eh? Why would I want to do that? Pledge to a power, go to a system controlled by that power. Wait until you see players of an enemy power. Shoot at them outside the starport (as they are of an enemy power you get no penalty other than no-fire fines), if they shoot back the station will immidietly engage and destroy them.

Otherwise I don't think the mods are in a position to decide what is allowed in the game and what is not. No argument, and I have no issue personally, with you recommending to seals to menu log if ganked. I just wouldn't do it myself, and think it's 'not in the spirit of the game' at best.
I basically just use a nigh uncatchable iCanoe, interdict the gankers. Then run.
Works best in tag teams, so while you're on cooldown, your wingman can be back in supercruise waiting. (Because the gankers just submit). Lol
Eventually you get blocked, but then they're no longer your problem.

Moderators are not devs. FDEV say menu logging is not only kosher, but they designed it implemented it, set the timer and haven't changed it in four years. People can stop playing the video game whenever they like FDEV seem to recognize that.
Agreed in every way (the fact that I said only a moderator didn't give you the idea that I realise the mods aren't devs? lol). My post infers nothing contrary to that except my personal assertion that it is frowned upon by anyone with a sense of honour and by the way, that includes braben. Don't make me go dig up a post where it is said this isn't intended gameplay, cos I ain't gunna, but they exist. By devs.

If at any point FDEV decide to change the timer they can, as it stands they think it's OK to log out in 15 seconds whilst in danger or they wouldn't have set it that way. Personally I don't do it (except when real life calls), but I've no problem with players who do.
