Woah there, hold your horses! The DBS ship kit doesn't actually exist, so sorry about getting your hopes up. This is also not a suggestion thread, even though having a DBS ship kit would be just about the best feature in the entire game with the exception of landable, fully inhabited planets, we all know what happens to suggestion threads.

No. This is a question thread! See, it belongs in this forum!

So the question, which is sort of a suggestion but actually not so it should absolutely, definitely stay in this forum, is this:

"Why is there no Diamondback Scout ship kit?"

Personally, I think it's because true DBS pilots spend most of their time with the ship in the shop getting the canopy and drives put back together, so having the extra repair cost of cheap plastic body work isn't appealing. Plus, how could you ever make a Space Apache any cooler?

I once tried putting a helicopter gunship loadout on my DBX - gimballed multicannon and a pair of dumbfire missile racks.

It was terrible :) I managed to destroy maybe 2 low level pirate NPCs before having to head back to base for resupply.

Missiles were the bomb back in the day. I used to hunt players and Anacondas with them. No cooldown on the launchers. Surprised a lot of Vipers with my dumbfire eagle!

So it's been over a year, and the Diamondback Scout's bigger, uglier brother has gotten a kit, yet the venerable DBS hasn't even had a paintjob thrown its way in all this time. I still fly it with the same midnight black paint I applied to it when I first flew it out of the shipyard! Come on FD, what's the hold up? I think the DBS might be the most neglected ship in the game at this point.

Although the year between posts serves well to demonstrate the lack of love for the DBS in the cosmetics department, I'll have to close it as a necro, sorry. Feel free to make a new thread and/or post in the feature requests forum
