On the rebuy screen you should have the option to buy back just the hull or the ship with all its modules. By default it's ticked 'select all', so it's either a bug or you might have unticked it by accident.

Alternatively, if you didn't have enough CR to cover the entire rebuy it might have defaulted you to just the hull.

Either way, I'd quickly restart ED to see if that fixes it, and then log a ticket with support. They can tell you what happened and restore it if needed.

Did you tick any of the boxes on the rebuy screen?

IIRC, by default you get the choice of "rebuy all" or "forget it and put me in a Sidey" but you can also tick/untick all the individual boxes related to various modules as well.

There shouldn't be any way you can end up with the hull of your old ship back but none of the modules unless you deliberately untick a bunch of boxes in the rebuy screen.
Just clicking "okay" on the rebuy screen should either give you your old ship back or put you in a Sidey.

Given that it's been a long time since you played, perhaps you removed all the modules you thought you had fitted and they're stored somewhere?
Alternatively, if you haven't played since before module storage was introduced, maybe that's screwed something up?

Should get it all back but that is a great idea...Should lose everything but the ship its-self. You risk taking it out, you risk losing it, you take out a very powerful load out, you have the advantage but also more to lose...Wish they would include this.

Raise a ticket. You should get everything back. I've lost three Type-10s so far; I'm v.rusty after spending most of last year out in the Black! I didn't touch the settings, I have plenty of credits, but one of my re-buys was vanilla, too, absolutely everything gone. Which was a bit of an issue- have you ever tried outfitting a large ship in the Pleiades, with most of the stations off line? [haha]

I didn't raise a ticket of my own- I enjoyed the role playing element. I know, what a geek... [wacko] ;)

There shouldn't be any way, yet folks always seem to blunder into finding a way.

Generally it's by rapidly clicking through things they should be reading first...

The problem is that your brain is scrambled by the shock of losing your ship when you're looking at the rebuy screen. Unless you're used to getting blown up several times a day, like in PvP, it's probably a good idea to go and get a cup of tea before tackling the rebuy screen.

They've made it a lot more foolproof now. generally, you only need to accept all the defaults on the screen - no need to tick or untick anything. The only way it can be improved now is if they have a confirmation screen that says something like, "You've selected to buy back your ship without the modules that were in it", "You've chosen to get your ship back exactly as it was" or You've chosen to abandon your ship and start again at Asellus Primus in the basic Sidewinder".

Maybe they always wanted it to be ambiguous and/or tricky to create more danger in the game.
