I want to use my HOTAS

Why are we stuck with just one hotas model? I just bought the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS Controller and I'm fumbling around for the controller buttons in VR. How difficult would be be to implement switching out your in-game HOTAS to your current HOTAS, limited to the most popular HOTAS out there, of course?

I doubt that this is going to be particularly high on Frontier's to do list, even if they agreed with you, so you'd probably be better off extracting models and doing it yourself, since the model format is apparently moderately known.
Maya is quite easy to learn (just start with a video showing how to do something simple), and you can always use a Kinect2 to scan your HOTAS for a base model to start with.

Maybe if you do a good job FD will implement your work in the main game.

That's interesting. Do you look at the buttons on your HOTAS before you press them when you're not playing in VR?

I doubt the Thrustmaster T.1600M FCS HOTAS Controller will be around in 3304. Besides, if Fdev switched it out to what we use where would the K+M users put their K+M? Xbone controller users are ok, they can just kick back and relax with the monstrosity in their mucky paws

There are vr players with kb+m?
P.S.: I’m not in vr, and use the steam controller. Please don’t crucify me XD

I am using the T16000m and FWCS in VR and had no problems at all. Maybe you just need to spend more time with your kit?

I've even got a N52 Speedpad next to the throttle and am getting used to the extra keys that gives me - slowly!

Considering they've only just added the yaw animation (twisting stick, when you twist) to the game in the current iteration (3.0beta) ... I don't imagine a complete redesign of the model used for the CMDR chair any time soon. It's an odd thing to ask in the way you did, not "hey this might be a fun idea" but "why can't I?" ... Can you change the in-game appearance of the controls to the real physical ones you own in any other game you've ever played?

Cool. Have to check it out in Live when it drops.

OP is a pioneer - no one else ever would have thought of this complaint.
This will now become a thing in games. You play in VR only - you never see you joystick in real life so you have no idea where the buttons are. Makes perfect sense.

If they implemented a proper API we could develop our own in-game assets, and initiated CMDR's and design in-game HOTAS of all kinds.
