I love the game but FD ignoring 95% of folks and caving to 1% makes me want to walk away.

Dunno, that Beta3 Type-7 felt like a huge Bug to me.

Jumprange boosted massively (what was the reason for that?)
C6 Thrusters & C6 Power Distributor? It's only got 4 small hardpoints (?)
Unengineered and A-Grade, the Ship was now a flying Refinery, literally trying to melt itself even during benign standard Operations (??!)

Just... weird.

I'd say if the Ship was to get a notable Jumprange buff, let 'em shave off a few tons off its Hull mass. Blame it on new Manufacturing techniques or something, keeps it lore-friendly.

Do you seriosly think that exploration is the only reason anyone needs a great JR, that is like me saying your game play is crap compared to mine because I do not like to explore.

There are 20,000Ly tours for passengers, and a T 7 makes a fine passenger ship.

I did not say that.... reread what i posted and take a step back.

T7 is a big heavy trade ship.
it is blindingly obvious that having it outjumping the asp explorer when specced for jumprange is just daft.....

this is nothing to do with how i want you to play the game - i do not give 2 squits, but I want the ships to make sense.

(all of these balance issues however all highlight how stupidly broken the Anaconda is btw, however that ships seems to be FDs baby and must be master of everything.)

oh and again... you complain of the 1% forcing FDs hand on things...... where is your proof? Perhaps the 1% are just the ones who watched the dev diaries and got on board with David Brabens vision

or perhaps, just maybe the 1% is just something which you plucked out of your head with no basis in reality.

oh and i do not give 2 squits about your gameplay..... what you and your ilk who use the "let me play however i want it does not effect you" argument fail to realise is that logical ingame consistency (or lack of) is massively important to my gameplay,

What a load of tosh! The developers clearly stated that they made an error in upping the FSD to achieve their desired improvement in jump range and so instead have reduced the mass of the ship to give them their desired increase in jump range whilst not making a mockery of "outjumping" designed-for-exploration ships.

I think you should enjoy your enhanced jump range and other improvements to your type 7 and stop making such a drama out of nothing.

Additionally, I think posting a whine in the support sub-forum is really pathetic.

There needs to be crap for balance, the ships are what they are, engineer your pansy exploration ship, I'm staying in my Vette, an American classic, and will just agree to disagree.

Like others before me, I'm wondering where this 95% and 1% comes from. Is the OP saying that 96% of ED gamers have some interest in the T-7?

I'm not in that vast majority. I must be in that missing 4%.

which is fine.... just put your toys back in the pram about its jump range.

I would not drive an American muscle car then moan about its crap fuel economy.

PS (and i am not trying to be obtuse)

what does "There needs to be crap for balance" mean?

There are hundreds of threads from folks wanting to max out their jump range, and they usually end up with a Coriolis link showing zero cabins, cargo holds, scanners, etc, just an empty hull to get the jump range they want, but now they cannot use the ship for anything productive.

Then I find FS was giving the Type 7 a 61 Ly jump range, what a great thing, almost eveyone would have bought one (I made my first real cr in a Type 7) this excited me more than attaining Admiral.

Meeting my rank goal had me on Cloud 9 and laid back, finally able to just enjoy the wonderful game, nothing can ever discourage me now I thought, then this.

I was elated at the thought of a Type 7 with a 61Ly JR.

But two comments later there was a link for FD, and because those with exploror ships were crying they nerfed the long JR plans because "It would not be fair for it to have a higher JR then the X ships."

I went from cloud 9 and having joy and pride in the game to almost having a deep hatred for it instantly, I love the game, but hate, HATE, the fact that a few babies can cry, and the rest of the community suffers for these cry babies.

Thanks for nothing.

Its not about crying. You are crying right now, and you wont get what you want. Its about using arguments to support your opinion. Ships should all have their pros and cons, so all ships are at least somewhat desirable. The T7 wasnt. With the bugged buff it would become too desirable, making others ships somewhat useless. Now it is still improved, but more balanced. FD agreed. That has nothing to do with 'crying'.

OP
<sarcasm on>
Do not forget that not only have FD upgraded the T7 but they are also about to force people to use it, even those who do not agree with its jump range. They too will simply have to use it. No other choice. No sir. They would prefer not to, or that some other existing ship still be better, so this means it should not even exist and no one else should even have the opportunity try it. What other alternative could there possibly be.......
<sarcasm off>

Tend to agree that it sometimes feels as if FD get overwhelmed by the opinions of a vocal minority who are undoubtedly better at this video game than the average and therefore often appear entitled as they encourage FD to design the game around their specials needs and the rest of us to gid gud. But I have no knowledge of the real stats. This is no different another multiplayer game of course. However for business reasons I image FD will continue to design the game primarily to accommodate the majority (whatever that is) - or more precisely in a way that is likely to maximise their 'profit'. As any listed company should.

The ship is nothing, the JUMP RANGE is, I have seen many many threads asking how to maximize jump range, and to do that you have to gut the ship, so you don't gain a thing, so many end up frustrated because of the lousy JUMP RANGE. FD tries to offer awesome JUMP RANGE in a ship, and folks raise hell because of it, because it just isn't right for him to have that special thing in a ship I don't like, so they need to nerf it, and I don't like the Anaconda so I hope they nerf it, and I only explore so I hope they nerf passengers, fighting, and everything else I don't like because I am the only one who wants fair balance in the game.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

It’s been this way since the beginning I’m afraid, and it probably won’t get any better because there is indeed a subset of players who feel their idea of what make the game the “proper” way to play should be how everyone plays...whether we like it or not.

That’s how things are around here...that’s how it’s always been and if frontier continue to listen to them, that’s the way it will always be.

It’s not much fun I agree, but realistically, what choice is there if we wanna keep playing? They see it as their game, and nothing anyone on this or any other forum is gonna change the status quo. Too much has been invested in “their” game to allow mere mortals to have any influence. If the rules weren’t there to protect them, I’m fairly sure I could name more than a few off the top of me head ^
