OK beta over. No NOT OK!

Beta was great, but why have they managed to break things that worked perfectly well before.
And what's more it's been the result of a "fix".

My specific whine is that my HOTAS throttle setting is being ignored on exit from h-jump or SC .
This was a "fix" for someone saying that it set speed to zero on exit.
So they set it to exit at maximum speed.
The term durrh comes to mind.

What was wrong with just looking for the throttle setting and matching that?
😏

Who said that it won't be fixed when the update is released?
Beta is closed, that does mean development has stopped. Maybe thats why there isn't a release date yet.

so you mean you set it to 0 during the jump, and it's at 100 when you come out? that would be bad. can anyone confirm that happened in beta 3?

I played beta 3 for a short while just before it ended and found that while I set my throttle to zero (during the countdown) I was still coming out at more than zero. Not I think full throttle, but definitely not zero.

I was one of those that bug reported this during the beta, and even in the earlier beta's I found it was somewhat random how fast I would be traveling on exiting the jump animation.

I played the Beta from release day.
I jumped quite a few times, using a HOTAS, and never once had my throttle change to anything but where I left it.

But as has been stated, Beta is over, bug-fixing is not. Beyond has not be slated for a launch date yet, so there can be time to fix little things, like this, and other bigger issues as well.

It was sort of an example.
How do you break something so simple?
It might well be fixed for release.
Hopefully. 

They didn't break it, though. At least, I never had this problem (I played the beta for several hours, which included a lot of jumps). Throttle being at zero (or not) after hyperspace is a complaint that has cropped up regularly since before release, and invariably raised by someone using a controller (not HOTAS).

Have you got any real examples? ;)

By ending the beta, now the developers can focus on tweaks, bug fixes, and polish for the final release. This is to be expected and is just part of the release management process.

Let's not pretend taht things like the OP is talking about don't happen. They break stuff all the time.

Complaining about stuff that is broken I don't have a problem with... It's the making up of random examples that aren't true that seems a little silly. So who's pretending, eh?

Hi all OP here.
Calm down, it was just in Beta.
My complaint was simply that they fixed one minor issue by making it worse.
At least if you exit with speed at minimum, you won't hit anything.

It was just that this particular "fix" had me nearly nose diving into a star.
Grrrh! 😉

Don't fret. I do not think FDev will keep that as a feature :).
It would make no sense for HOTAS players.

Don't know...

Am I pretending? Also playing with a HOTAS and it's behaving differently (as in you exit the jump with the throttle set where you left it) in live to how it behaved in beta.

Glad you don't have the problem, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist for others.

Gotta say, I've been having this problem both on the live & beta servers recently.

After a jump my throttle is physically set to zero, my speed is zero but the "selected speed indicator" is up in the blue zone and the ship's speed immediately increases to reach it.

If you're expecting it, it's easy to resolve just by throttling up and then back down again.
If you're not expecting it, however, it can provide a squeaky-bum moment when you try to throttle back, only to find your throttle is already at zero.

If people have their throttle set up so that all-stop is in the centre of it's range, presumably it'd respond differently to if you have the throttle set up to full-range and a separate control for selecting forward/reverse?

I wonder if those two different throttle options have something to do with the problem?

I was responding to the OP stating that he didn't actually have the problem he described, and was just using it as an example.

If you do actually have the problem, then that's obviously a different situation. Has it been reported?
