3.0: The Lakon Rises

Advertisement. Post 3.0 updates in yellow.

The galaxy has brought new opportunities, and new threats.

You can trust Lakon to deal with both, with a range of stunning upgrades and new hardware:

  • T7 jump range buffed! Your T7 is built with love, care and now lighter materials in its construction. Unlock new trading opportunities and profits with fewer jumps. A typical T7 configuration (with no cargo) will now see increased jump range of approximately 5 light years.
  • T7 gains extra Size 2 slot. The flexibility, Commanders, is yours.
  • T7 Power Distributor upgrade! Class 3 to Class 4. More power available. By your command.
  • T7 Power Plant upgrade! Speaking of power, have some more, thanks to a Class 5 slot for your Power Plant!
  • Keelback gets an extra seat! Our much loved, affordable SLF-capable combat trader now has additional seatiing functionality.
  • T9 Heavy gets heavier! An additional Class 8 cargo slot makes it the premier, rank-unlocked trader it was always meant to be. True Bulk Trading for the masses has arrived!
  • T9 gets lighter too! Enjoy True Bulk Trading while maintaining your original jump range. The hull mass has been reduced to 850 tons.
  • T10 Defender Power Distributor upgrade! You spoke! We heard you! Class 6 to Class 7! Defend yourself and deploy your energy weapons, as The Big 3 becomes The Big 4. Take on all threats (human or otherwise) with flexible kinetic-thermal loadouts utilising an unparalleled NINE hard-points and the best armour hardness of any other vessel from any manufacturer!
  • Introducing the Alliance Chieftain! With improved flight model and thruster power from initial prototype configuration. The apex of joint Lakon-Alliance engineering. A sexier version of its competing Federal equivalent, the Chieftain is a true fighter for the next generation of threats, with best-in-class agility, generous slot space for military equipment, a Class 6 internal slot (ideal for shield generators, replacing one of the Class 5 slots), excellent jump range for a combat vessel, and no rank lock. With optimal hardpoint placement for fixed weapons*, the Alliance Chieftain is the perfect home for any Railgun-party pack**.

Other ship manufacturers dream.

Lakon do.

* Recommended.

** Not included. But recommended,

Please contact your local Lakon dealership for special offers, loadout advice and test flights. Stop dreaming. Do Lakon. This advertisement was brought to you by Lakon. o7 Commanders.

Faulcon DeLacy is better. Our vessels have genuine comforts. These are ships you can live in.

Now it only needs one thing to hammer the dominance home: DBX and DBS get one size 2 slot turned into two size 1 slots.
FD are on about slot racks:
Similar to the fighter hangar you fit the rack and slot in the modules you want. For example Exploration rack: slot an Advanced Discovery Scanner and a surface scanner in one rack.
Really looking forward to this.

Was that from the livestream? Cos I watched it but I missed that info, I thought they were planning to do this for limpets, not slots.

Speculation for the next Lakon ship: a combat SLF capable ship based around the (accidental) beta specs for the T7 but with actual functional weapons.
Let's hope Gutamaya respond with a similar SLF capable ship. For that Imp ship: medium ship, two large 4 small HP'S. For the Imp medium fighter: no SLF two large and 4 medium HP'S with weapon convergence similar to the Chief. Well maybe two medium on the outer edges of the ship, for balance.
Back to Lakon I'm hoping for great things when FDEV rejig the Asp Scout.

Not more combat ships, we'as gots combat ships coming out of our ears.

Yeah but I don't like a chunk of em. I'm not enamoured with the Fed ships TBF.
The FDL is so ubiquitous as to be dull.
The Clipper I can't get away with.
I love the small ships especially the iCourier and Vulture. With special mention to the Viper IV. The Chieftain's the only medium combat ship that does it for me right now (PVP).
A combat ship with the FDL'S shields and comparable weapon load out would be worthwhile.
By all means I'm in favour of a bunch of Exploration specialised ships. I'm also in favour of new trade ships. But I suppose new trade ships: T-10, the buffed T-9, the buffed T-7, the Clipper, the Cutter.
Although while typing this I realised that most ships can be used for most things. So flexibility in ship design is no bad thing with a few definite specialists.

...oh...disappointing...although TBH what would you change? The T-6 is damn near perfect already!

IMO, the T6 is the most under-rated ship in the game. Fast, great jump range, and she also makes a great exploration ship. Getting my hands on a T6 was one of the best moments I've had in the game.

The only thing I would change (for the Hauler and Keelback as well) is extra cargo capacity. These are traders, they should be best-in-class for cargo capacity for their respective sizes. I wish FD would do dedicated cargo slots for the T-range of ships.
