Any "astronomer" can confirm the pulsar PSR B1509-58 "Hand of God" is represented ingame by "Circinus Pulsar" ?
Thanks !

I'm not sure if I understand the question correctly, but the Circinus Pulsar is represented in the game. I visited it back in 2015. Just search for it in the galaxy map.

Yep, that pulsar is the Circinus Pulsar in-game.

Ok thx. :) May I ask you what catalogue do you use ? Simbad ?

"Circinus Pulsar" is its community and game name. Real name is that one. But it seems ED doesn't use the B1950 designation. Only the J2000. So FDevs invent new names ...what a mess..

Well surely it makes more sense to use the Epoch 2000 data rather than the earlier one?

I don't think anyone uses the Besselian notation these days at all.

I use a combination of SIMBAD, online sources and galaxy map to find these objects.

This specific object is part of the PSR series. If you type PSR into galaxy map and press return, it will take you to the first listed object. Press return again and it will take you to the next one. Keep doing this and you will eventually end up at Circinus Pulsar in-game. While the EDSM site says it was named by the community, it is actually listed in-game as Circinus Pulsar.

There are a number of catalogues included in the map. I've concentrated on XTE, GRS and OGLE objects in the past. Others concentrate on the Messier, NGC, HD and HR catalogues. There's some Kepler catalogue entries in the map as well.

Thank you for the explanation.
Yes, I already knew about those PSR in the game. I was just not sure about the in-game name of The Hand of God, as I only know it under its Besselian designation B1509 (@ParaHandy, as it appears as main identifier in most catalogues and press https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tq7231IVEDQ ).
And there are no PSR Bxxxx in the GalMap.
Also other Julian designation is PSR J1513 but it seems the GalMap shows another totally different body under this identifier..
I just wrote ...what a mess !
