300 hr mark and (almost)Everything completed

Efficiency was the name of the game

300 hrs into my second account (first account was on xbox) i have just about everything done that needs doing.

So first off.... I don't have EVERYTHING done. I only have 1 elite (exploration) and i still have 2 engineers to unlock ( Lori Jamison and Bill Turner). But aside from that......i own every ship (mostly all max level engineered), every PowerPlay module that I'm interested in, both Naval rank grinds completed (all hail the Admiral/King), and every other engineer unlocked and up to level 5.

So.... i know thats not EVERYTHING but it represents the vast majority of content currently in the game. I haven't fought the thargoids or been to Colonia on pc, but I did both of those things on Xbox so I don't feel the need to do them again on PC. I also have elite in trading and combat on xbox so I don't feel the need to rush to get them done in pc. Besides there's no way Elite combat could have been done along with everything else and still come in at under 300 hours.

I'm not looking for a cookie or anything. I just felt like that was a pretty interesting achievement worth mentioning to the community.

Now I can finally just go play the damn game for fun instead of trying to maximize my progress. Do I even remember how to do that? lol

Hehe, I'm at 900~ hours (maybe more).

Still not done everything. Not even Elite in anything. Still got 3 Engineers to unlock. Ships I haven't flown (T6,7,10, Beluga, Cutter), or need to unlock (Cutter).

Buuuuut I got bored some time ago and played other games. Lol

I'm mostly lurking until beyond, see if that reinvigorates my interest. Otherwise it's off to play something else. Again. Lol

If you've spent all your time doing the "content", you haven't actually played any of the content.

Fair play to you for grinding that hard - the game drives me mad when I even think about it - but yeah. I'll call my game completed when communists rule Sol.

Congrats, that is some dedication. 4 years in and not even triple elite, too busy having fun, maybe my grand children will 100% everything one day :)

As to OP, for many of us working the background sim is the ED endgame. The credits, ranks and ships are merely the tools of the trade. What do you do when you've done everything? play the real game! :)

Genuine congratulations, but I never realized this was a game that could be considered "completed". For me its about character's story, and that just continues to unfold as time goes on. When (if?) you can let go of considering the game as some kind of bucket list, the fun does indeed really begin.

Ah same here only trade elite have flown all the ships and played considerable. Yes being playing since Dec 2014. Still enjoying it. The Op needs my congrats as well. So WELL DONE. Now enjoy.

Nice one, it's good to have some sort of benchmark. So a question - did you spend all those 300 hours unlocking/playing the content or was some of it used for pure adventure with no particular goal in mind?

I'm sorry but imho you haven't "played" the game at all, you did a speedrun, an absolute grind, where is the fun in that.
The way I look at it is that you only maximized the chance of becoming fatigued.

Imho, you can't complete ED, it's a never ending game where you build your own story, at least that's what I do.

Well he did say he will now just play the game for fun, respect to him, he set himself a challenge and pretty much completed it.

Exactly, I don't get all these "You do it wrong".

No, he did it perfectly right! He played (yes, PLAYED) the game his own way. So what if what he did was a grind? He set a goal and achieved it (nearly).

Anyway, once again - gg OP! It's good to have some sort of a benchmark of how much it roughly takes to complete most of what the game has to offer in terms of progression. It's a great result as well, you pay 40 quid and you get 300 hrs - probably around 400 if you count the missing bits.

That roughly calculates to a quid per 10 hours of playtime. Show me another way to have fun for 10 hours for a quid! :D Not bad, Elite, not bad at all!

Gz OP ! I know the feeling all too well, when you can actually start to play at your leisure, because the set goals are accomplished. But when 3.0 lands we'll be engineering all over again, before going back to the fun.

You need to change your thinking. Maybe you're not playing efficiently enough. This one has all the engineers unlocked to level 5. I give you 9/10 for effort and a v. good tick, but you must try harder if you aspire to excellence:

I stand corrected, he did indeed set a challenge for himself and I admit he did it quite quick too.
It's just not a way I would play ED or any other game for that matter.

@OP
I hope you can still have fun now, I would've been fatigued to the core.

This is the only reason why you are able to accomplish a lot in a relatively short time period. Be careful though, the Busybodies will get wind of your achievement and start yelling for everything you did to get nerfed! [up]

congrats... i guess ....................... i suppose i just like skinner boxes however i dread the day when i have got all the ships engineered, got triple (quad?) elite and seen all the hand crafted sights i want to in the game.

for me the enjoyment is that journey and i am having to impose more and more "rules" to slow me down as the game gets easier and easier to get to those goals.

1600 hrs in and Dangerous is my highest rank, i am about 2/3 of the way to unlocking the engineers, with only 50% grade 5, still not been to sag A or colonia and not been to the guardian ruins yet.\

have seen the thargoids but am not convinced they are the enemy so not attacked one yet... still lots to do for now :)
