I play a silly Super Hero game with a wonderful costume creator. You can tell which characters are created by Men, Boys, and Women. It's readily apparent. I am old, and growed up with 'hang-ups'. I can only identify with guy characters.

Yeah, yeah. My hang-ups are mine. I was just having a laugh about some of the costumes you'll see, and how you can immediately know who driving.
Victor is pretty cool, but that might just be because he's new.
At any rate, I'll have Orion for most of my AI needs anyway, so I'm good. heh.
I have O.R.I.O.N. as my A.I. but, he still has to share duties with the Ship's voice. Maybe that's why I like Victor more, he's more like Mr. Shatner, than Verity.
I'll definitely give Victor a go and I'm someone who's up for the possible voice packs too.
I've always liked the Engineer's ATC, and I like the idea of my ship sounding slightly robotic.
When it's very human I tend to think of HAL 9000 ... shivers.
I let the ship know I'm in charge and that Skynet is a total myth, just in case.

If Verity's the default ship voice pre-beta, I'm keeping it the way it is with Verity. AI voices sound better when they're feminine.
Ok, so for me... it really depends on the game. If it's something that plays mostly in 3rd person, I'll take a female character any time. Why? Because if there's going to be a bum in the middle of my screen for me to stare it, it best be a female one.
If it's a 1st person game, then I generally don't care - whatever the default is is fine.
It still sounded the same in Beta 3 as all previous versions. I tried Victor in my SRV which was a little easier to hear, but still not loud enough or clear enough to suit me.
This. Might as well have something nice to look at while you’re grinding for xp.
IIRC, he neither says "friendship drive" nor "frame shift drive", but something in-between like "friengship drive". It's hard to describe, but felt wrong to me.

Personally, I quite like Celeste. I may buy her this month.
