Most Essential Mats/Data to stockpile before patch?

So what in everyone's opinion is most important-just about maxed out and don't know what to drop next...

Notable Stock:
Antimony 53
Biotech conductors 100
Exquisite focus crystals 136
Pharmaceutical isolators 8
Proto heat radiators 17
Ruthenium 66
Tellurium 58
Thermic alloys 41
Yttrium 36
Zirconium 69

Abnormal compact emissions data 12
Cracked industrial firmware 52
Datamined wake exceptions 47
Modified Embedded firmware 138

Has it been confirmed that any quantities above 100 are saved?
How is the column up/down transfer rates?

Any help much appreciated

I am leaving material gathering until 3.0 goes live. At least then I can actually gather all materials I find.
I did a brief check on the mission boards of the drop rates for MEF specifically. This is fairly common in 2.4 but in 3 I struggled to find boards that offered it.

This is only a rough guess, I've not done days and days of comparative cross station state analysis, but the drop rates for MEF specifically seem noticeably lower in 3. Other grade 5 materials also appear less frequently (EFCs etc). My hunch is that the drop rates for grade 5 materials has been lowered in 3.0 to balance the material traders being added.

Hence, if you don't stockpile now, you will likely find it harder to do so in 3.0.

I suspect it may be better to stockpile Grade 5 materials now, and downgrade these with the traders once these are available.

You have left out Proto Radiolic Radiators, Core Dynamic whatsits and the other G5 manufactured materials.

Top grade in each class

Yttrium
Technetium
Ruthenium
Antimony
Polonium
Zirconium

Pharmaceutical Isolators
Military Grade Alloys
Proto Heat Radiators
Biotech Conductors
Improvised Components
Military Supercapacitors
Imperial Shielding
Core Dynamics Composites
Exquisite Focus Crystals
Proto Radiolic Alloys

Abnormal Compact Emissions Data
Datamined Wake Exceptions
Peculiar Shield Frequency Data
Adaptive Encryptors Capture
Classified Scan Fragment
Modified Embedded Firmware

Can confirm you will keep any items above the new cap. However, once under said cap you'll not be able to exceed it again. Was on one of the Sandro livestreams iirc.

Personally I ain't stockpiling. My plan in its entirety is to hit up the barnacle sites, stock up on a ton of materials of all kinds. Swap it for things I need at the mats trader then repeat. At the same time I'll gather some meta alloys to fund at least part of my chieftain and/or krait.

Why even stockpile? The material won't suddenly go away. In fact, stock piling materials after the patch will be so much more convenient when you no longer need to rummage through your storage to make room for things.

On a hunch? With no evidence? Alright, whatever floats your boat.

Did you read the whole post?
I'd consider that more than a hunch and pretty well reasoned.
Weren't drop rates mentioned in the latest stream as well?

It also makes sense to consider what to save and what to toss out.
Better to have a hold full of higher level stuff than lower.

But don't come back later complaining the game is a grind :)

Ftr, I don't complain about that ever, and I have ~20 fully engineered ships including the big 3/4.

:)

I did 400+ G1 weapons rolls in the past few weeks, just to shore up my armory.
Then there were the dozens of single roll G5 shield boosters, collectors and the like, just to fill up empty slots on storage ships and think ahead for new ships.

Already have the proper G5 modules ready to go straight into a Chieftain, and a G5 7A PD for my T-10.
When 3.0 drops I'm planning on doing all of my FSDs, PDs, DDs, rails and lasers immediately to max G5, so I'll be using lots of high level mats.

Might even pick up a T-9 just for kicks.

Ymmv.

That's just missions and just a hunch.

You think they will nerf settlement data scans, megaships data hacking, high grade USS... I really don't think so or there will be a new 50+ page thread about enforcing grind in this game.
