Contacting PMF's

Hi all,

Everyone with player faction knows how hard it is to get in contact with other player minor factions, if they dont have for example Inara Wing.
Our faction has had many occasions where we should contact some other PMF, for example when expanding in same system with other PMF so we can start diplomacy.

Maybe we could have some sort of contact thread in here, would it work? It should be pinned so it wont get lost in the forums when new threads are made.

Thoughts?

Some PMFs don't even have a footprint here. Perhaps a Discord would be good that only has the wing leader/selected ambassador from each group in it. Not saying it would have anymore catchment than your idea but at least contact would be more immediate. Just a thought and something I'd be part of if others wanted to.

Oh i did a similar thread there also, but it got lost under all the new threads..
So apparently our faction is the only one who wants to contact other PMF's..

Perhaps a Discord would be good that only has the wing leader/selected ambassador from each group in it.

They have one of those out in Colonia - 2 representatives per faction. I understand it works pretty well (though of course I can only observe the eventual outcomes), but the scale is very different and the factions are on average probably more active and talkative ... with the average PMF out here being present in the home systems of at least two or three other PMFs and there being fewer "neutral" systems than factions, diplomacy is rather more necessary than it might otherwise be.

The problem, I think, is that by definition this is most needed for groups you don't have a way to contact ... and adding another contact method they won't have registered themselves with doesn't help there.

Perhaps a locked sticky that just has discord contact details - to facilitate diplomacy but avoids public spats!

Hoping that Season 4 goes a long way to improving this aspect through in-game tools, ut in the meantime as Pollycough says, this works.

Me too. I would love to see a possibility to leave messages to stations. Like a message board where everyone could write a message, and/or select some pre-defined messages to send to some certain faction.

I'll add the wiki to the sticky list...

However there is an issue which remains - the factions that are "out" are the ones that will appear in any list of contacts... and those are the ones that you can find ok!

Just not everyone.
