General / Off-Topic Damn You Windows!

Trying to practice my video recording techniques, so I can annoy you lot with pointless videos.

Windows restarts to do an update.

...

And then restarts again.

...

Can someone tell Microsoft that mandatory restarts are annoying.

Now where was I?

My pc is also currently stuck in an update loop. It restarts, takes 15 mins to fail to install updates, restores from system restore on its own, then tries to install them again. Before anyone asks, of course my windows is valid and activated.

I'm an application and os tech by trade but I cannot be bothered to work out what the problem is, I'm going to upgrade my mobo soon, so fresh install is coming anyway. If I happen to solve it by accident in the coming days, I'll let you know.

Don't bother...Hercules has that particular category covered!
Good point.

Although I just realised something.

My internet is slow.
Last time I tried to upload a 1 minute 720p video to YouTube, it took 2 hours. Lol

And it wasn't very good.

Practice makes perfect!

Although, my GTX 770 can't seem to make stuff look that great at the moment, too many jaggies. Lol

I had that once. Cleared out all the temporary update files from... somewhere. Done. Next update worked fine. :)
Also saves ton of space. Apparently windows like to horde files. Lol

Windows 7 still seems to be working fine for me... Just saying. ;)

I mean, minus that part where Microsoft broke Windows updates for a while there. [haha]

Does look like there are some updates in the queue though.

Disable the Windows 10 Update Service. Problem solved.
Re-enable it when you got time to have it search & install Updates as desired.
When using other Windows Versions, make sure you inhibit the automatic installing of Updates (Search only) in the Update settings.

For as long as you let MicroSoft be the Admin of your Device, you'll have no control over it. Become a real Admin again and retake Control.

I prefer Windows 7

I downloaded the SP1 and since then I have blocked the updates
