Im glad it stayed in General though. At least people took part in it and voiced their opinions.
Subforums are kind of a bad idea imo.
Not a lot of people actively look in certain parts of the forums for topics.
Letting it stay there for as long as it did was a good Idea and I hope they let threads stay in general for a time period before they get sorted so a larger part of the community gets to weigh in.
As some people are interested in it, or would like to get into it. Or maybe they dont and voice their opinions why they dont.
At any rate, I hope the continue to allow it to stay that way.

I honestly say that there is no need, there's plenty of NPCs with bounties, and also to your point, there's so much to explore.

I can't give you a multiple rep but just to say I had a bit of an "oh! we've gone on just the same journey" these last few posts.
There are a few shells to this doll and at first I cared, the next layer less so - then the engineers happened about the same time I look at the next layer and just gave the frack up on it. Too much trying to force the game to be something other than what it is. It's fun as it is - there are other games that can scratch those other itches better.
That Isinona video earlier gave me tingles and reminded me of what I'd call the good times. I miss not having ship transfer and buying a disposable speedball sidey to bomb it cross-bubble to retrieve ships :/

Yes. Baffling really because although the general subject being discussed is PVP, the specific question OP was pondering is:
Moving the thread to the PVP forum is hardly going to facilitate discussion of that is it?
90 pages in. Anything useful to be said on the subject has already happened. Now its just going round in circles. Leaving it in DD just clogs up DD with useless debate.

I used to love DD, then it was castrated and now I find myself dwelling in Off-topic of all places. I mean, I didn't even know there was an Off Topic before they ruined DD...

Same, everything felt better on the front page.
I mentioned earlier maybe a compromise as it kind of happened in this thread.
If something does have a labelled topic but posted in DD. It should stay up for a minimum of X Days before moved. Thats what happened with this one before it was moved. And all kinds of people took part in it. Explaining everything to why they dont PVP, balancing stuff. PVP in Elite Dangerous is a pretty hot topic. And for good reason.
Lots of people really dont venture out of DD. DD is modeled the way reddit is. Except its done with last reply instead of votes. Which is fine doesnt matter.
But yeah tucking away is fine. But allowing people to see it first felt pretty neat here. Maybe it was a fluke. I was just glad it happened this way.
Funny, because I read quite a few requests for a PvP Sub-forum over the years. Something about not having unshielded T-7's getting involved with things they know nothing about....

Yeah, I think this question goes hand in hand with OP's question.
Since its not popular. What would it take to make it popular and mean something? Merits per kill in powerplay? Player kills meaning something in Bounty hunting CG's with Imps Vs Feds? When you pirate someone should you be able to use the manifest scanner and look at their missions, pick one, and then take the cargo to goes with it? Its kind of like a trucker at a checkpoint with those scanners, for weighing and inspection. So why not get the paper trail that comes with it.
This way Pirating is profitable.
But thinking about it. Could it be exploited? By doing a mission for someone? Or farming an alt account. So it probably wouldnt work. I mean you can complete wing missions for your friends so I really dont see why it would matter.

Except reddit users decide on what makes the front page or not through up/downvotes, and reddits own alorithims means even active threads dissapear after a while.
All it takes on the forums is for people to keep arguing useless arguments forever to keep a thread on the first page.
There are pluses and minuses to both systems, but if people wants to see Asps in front of things then reddit delivers. Having said that, not a single Asp in front of things on the first page today
