VR Lens question

Is it possible to replace the lenses of a VR headset with more customized? For example, some headsets such as some Windows Mixed Reality sets, don't let you adjust your lenses for IPD, and some have very small "sweet spots" compared to others.

Could you theoretically replace those lenses with something that has a better sweet spot, or a different IPD width?

Nope. A VR headset without IPD adjustment is not fit for purpose in my opinion and should be avoided.

Naw, I'd simply advise that you MUST try it out first to make sure you'll be happy with it. The IPD on a Lenovo Explorer is set at about 63, and I have an IPD of 67. I'm happy with it, but I can tell anyone with a wider IPD definitely will not be.

Given the price point and conveniences, it's too harsh to dismiss those headsets. But it is wise to be forewarned about them.

Also, I wasn't talking about adjusting the lenses, but replacing them with something custom made (assuming such a thing was possible)

Considering the eye strain induced headaches you can get from having an incorrectly adjusted IPD as well as the in-game scale issues I'd have to stand by my original post.

The Lenovo Explorer is the same cost as an Oculus Rift here in the UK, the latter offers a far superior VR experience.

Referring back to my original post, no current gen VR HMD has replacable lenses.

The lenses and the deformation of the image through them is tied directly to the how the renderer renders the image as well, so changing lenses to something with a different distortion would be utterly detrimental without adjusting the renderer as well.

After i get the lens lab lenses i try the lenses from vr lens eu because of the great reviews on reddit an they are perfect. I think vroptician is tha same company. With the first one a got horrible barrel distorsion. With the prescriptionlenses from vr lens eu i got no problems and i can change my IPD with the adpaters an i can remove them in 1 sec. My best "add-on" for my VR headset!!
