I love the player interaction.
Yesterday I interdicted someone and fired two MC's into his nose. He swore at me an said what do you want?
At that point I realized he didn't want any part of this. I retracted my hard points and said sorry I was just messing.
His attitude changed and he said you scared the sh*& out of me. Said a few nice words to each other and flew off.
That reminded me when I took down my first NPC Anaconda with my Python. Back in the day the Anaconda was scary. But I digress.
Another time I interdicted someone and fired. He flew away. So I gave chase for a bit because he didn't jump. I didn't open up because I
couldn't tell if he was interested. Then his buddy showed up and his attitude changed. He began to fire! I took him down to 6%, told him to
reboot and jumped out.
More often then not I have good commanders jump in and save the day. Many of rebuy screens this has sent me to. On one occasion I could
have destroyed one of them but left him at 12% and focused my attention on the others until the rebuy screen. I had nice chats with them, nothing
mean, just gameplay.
I guess one of my points is Open can be fun and dangerous without destroying gameplay.

I come here occasionally to restore my desire to murder.
Ironically, it was the forum that motivated me to embark on a path of destruction, too. I used to be pretty kind hearted to my fellow travelers in the black, but one day reading the forum, between the constant (at the time anyhow; it seems to have mellowed out a little in recent months) denigration of PvPers and PvErs lobbying to have the difficulty associated with 2.1 NPC's removed, I just snapped and went darkside. I've mostly gotten it out of my system, but whenever I need fresh motivation, it's pretty easy to find here.
Offering the same advice over and over can be tiresome.
I'm a nice guy in game, but I'll argue till the cows come home in the forum, actually once the cows have come home I'll argue about how fast they came home.
It never effects how I am in game though.
So random people on the internet have the ability to control your way of playing, which manifests itself on the players who probably don't participate on these forums.
