Well, we do know powerplay is updated on Thursdays, so it's not a good day to also do database changes. (I know, I've used to work with large scale databases)

Also, we do know there will be updates to the database because of new materials, and that has to happen on a live database.

And what's more, I have experience of corporations having a release schedule because of the departmentalization of development, testing, and live servers.

So they really don't have to tell me this for me to know that these reasons are very likely ones.

The update has obviously been cleared by Sony and MS, or a release date would not have been announced and the code cannot now be changed.

Unless both Sony and MS are more restrictive than Apple, that's probably not true. There's always a last bugfix

Ok, so your issue is that they're not immediately releasing it? What's wrong with waiting? It's just a week. I don't suspect anything criminal in FDev choosing their release dates.
