So, needing a big trade ship in my fleet, I finally settled on getting the type 9. It's getting buffed in 3.0 too, so a big plus.
Had enough juice in the tank to fly it back to my home system, which saved on transfer costs as I only had to transfer back my hauler taxi. Was funny to fly back too, as the ship seems to think it's in a constant bullet time, except it's in normal space, so if you don't prepare when exiting witch space, you have about a week to contemplate your life choices before you smack into the star, or so I presume if that had actually happened.
What did happen though, was when I got back, I loaded up on cargo missions to the next system over, and went on a proper test run. Next thing I know, I'm interdicted by a pirate, and had to throttle down in the hopes my shields would hold while I ran away. I have a 5A shield with 4 boosters. Not only was I mass locked, but, despite having multi cannons, the NPC stripped my shields before I could even swear, and blew my up, leaving me with with a rebuy+fines which I begrudgingly paid off.
Money isn't an issue atm, I'm more annoyed that I do the one thing this ship is good at, and with care taken not to be totally defenceless, but still get thrown in the dumpster by an NPC who clearly wasn't even trying. It just leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and someone needs to explain to me why I don't just trade the T9 in for a Conda right now, as what's the point of ship that can't ever deliver anything.
I'll stop ranting now so people can throw in their own thoughts in.
Update: just completed a second run just to see. Didn't go badly this time thankfully. Did het pirates but they didn't get a chance to interdict me, even though now I'd put all pips to systems instead and was ready to hi wake, but really wanting to try and win an interdiction too. Guess first time was bad luck (I hope).
The big girl will stay in my fleet for now, barely. The slaughterer's axe missed her today. You can all rejoice.
