ADVICE: NEVER play on patch day.

ADVICE: NEVER play on patch day. Playing a Beta on release is different since its on a different server. Playing a LIVE PATCH on patch day.....Things can go wrong since its on the live server

I usually can't. It takes my Farmville ISP so long to download the updates that I usually let it patch while I'm sleeping and then play the next day. LOL

Not really an issue for me... I'm at work when these release, and by the time I get home nearly all the dust has settled.

I fire up Elite, let it start patching, and fire up something else, like NMS, or ME:A, or Witcher 3, or Watchdogs 2, and wait out the update.

I usually play X3 albion prelude on patch day. Dont like rebirth

Well... One thing is certain. Chuck Norris already owns the complete edition of ED. And he owns every star system in the galaxy, we just don't know it yet.

Yeah Well Chuck Norris is slipping in his old age.... If Chuck Norris was in ED Thargoids would have never had a chance at destroying stations.

More like "don't file a bug report about connection problems on patch day". Everytime when a big patch hits at least five different bug reports pop up about connection issues. Next day they resolve in their own. It's magic. ;)

I too find X3 worth going back to. I really wish that they'd steal an idea or two from it actually. Especially being able to have a private Hauler fleet would be fun for the whole player ecosystem, especially if FD can solve its C&P problems.

I would kiss up to the Yaki in order to get access to the Chokaro transport and its excellent combination of speed, shielding, and nearly hauling as much as conventional freighter, and then send them all over the galaxy as set-and-forget universal traders. Actually worked much better than you'd be afraid it would, since they had gunship level shielding and could get out of Dodge before they could be obliterated. I could put about 100 of them in the field and not sweat about them, they were the perfect universal traders for that reason alone.

Would love to see the game allow you to have a private Hauler fleet, it would be fun for the whole "family" -- since the traders wouldn't be bound by your instancing rules, they'd fly in Open. It would give pirates something to attack, give merchants a reason to fly in open, it would create a whole new kind of emergent play, and add a new strategic element to the game. Combined with some C&P reforms to make High Security systems actually High Security, it would really flesh out the game a great deal.

lol... when the gravity of Jupiter lines up with the live server and the moons gravity aligns on the back end of the server. The server Tide rises and stretches and pulls on the server... Therefore fixing all connection issues... LMAO
