a better outfitting and livery system

while I love the fact that paint job and ship kit previews were added recently, I still feel like the existing outfitting and livery system in Elite Dangerous is lacking. My son recently started playing Need 4 Speed payback and the outfitting system in that game is wonderful (ex: https://youtu.be/PmGw6gD4g_Q).

I would also appreciate the ability to resize, rotate and move the decals on my ship (such as ship name, number and other decals).

I think that Frontier could still keep the store the same way it exists today, but that changing the implementation of outfitting and livery to allow for free rotation around the ship while applying / previewing changes and allowing modification of the decals via rotation, scaling and positioning they would have a much better system and we could see much more variety in the existing paint jobs out there.

Thoughts?

I am absolutely on board with at least being able to flip the decals. My sense of symmetry is completely blown out of the water with the right side of the ship's decal aiming forward and the left side pointing at the .

I'd also like to see a change in font for the ship's name. The block letters are fine on the more military looking ships, but seem a little glaring on the Saud Kreuger and Guntemaya sleek designs.

Heck, I'd be happy if we could just have some sort of camera control in the livery screen.

Best idea ever! The current angles really (sorry Frontier, I love ya, but it has to be said) suck. They're terrible. Switching from one item to another changes the angle, perspective, location... Why is it so random? At least leave the perspective the same so we can maintain some idea of position.
