5€ for a few dots of light? Ok...

I think people should realize that NONE of the store stuff is "worth the money".
I don't buy it because it's worth it, I buy it to give Frontier a couple extra quid. That's how it works. If you want a bargain, go shop in Tesco.

I'll never understand the rant over having to pay for purely optional cosmetic game items.
There's IMO a bit much of ye olde repaint going on in areas that could take a bit more shape variety. We have seven "outfit" items that are all the same jacket and pants with different colouration, 22 flight suits without the slightest model change, and now the string lights have just gone white (and I assume static). For me it's less paying for cosmetic items, and more the growing sensation of paying a static price for decreasing effort.

I don't really like the idea of my bridge looking like Santa's Grotto.

The voices might be worth paying for if they got good voice overs with a bit of personality added in the mix. If they sound plain and ordinary then probably not.

I swore that I would not spend any more money in the store until I saw how Beyond panned out (the whole "season" or whatever it's being called) but then I bought a FAS and I was looking at it in outfitting thinking how very plain it was...and the next thing I knew I was in the store browsing, "just doing a little window shopping, it's okay jason!" I told myself...time kind of blured...the next thing I know, I'm at the checkout feverishly handing over my money in exchange for 3x paint packs...

I have a problem. Help me, brothers.

Use the link the OP posted and you can hear what the voice sounds like.

Oh dear, oh dear. You have got a problem. Is there a local chapter of Elite Commanders Anonymous near you?

Right, but the simple thing to do is vote with your wallet.
If no one buys the lights then FD will realize they've overpriced them, and likely lower the price.
If the flight suits aren't selling well, then they'll probably switch gears to develop different cosmetics going forward.
If they keep making these things, then that tells me one thing. People are actually buying them.

The good thing about these is that they are entirely optional and have no effect on the game besides the cosmetic nature. So feel free to pass.

I know I won't be buying those lights - if they had several colours to choose from, then it would be a fairer price. But I just ignore it and move on.

Yea you're totally correct of course. Now only if I didn't have an obsession to completion. I know it's my problem (duh), and of others who suffer from the same "personality disorder". I never have forgiven FD for how the Cobra Mk.IV thing went through; the window to get the permission to buy it was so small I didn't make it. I hear it's the worst ship in the game, but it doesn't really help at all with the nagging feeling in the back of my head telling my fleet will never ever be complete.

you can buy that light cheaper in Hutton Orbital, 20% discount last time when i was there.

Correct. Hutton is similar to Shinrarta but does not require permit and the discount is better.

I wish people would see the trouble of trying to see. I said previously I want to support my hobby and have done so with well over 500€ on just the store over the years. That is not the issue. You know? The issue is a bodykit costs around 10€, and it takes quite a lot of resources to make, whereas a few lights cost half as much (the comparable amount of work doesn't need elaborating, I am fairly certain). Definitely there is chaos in the pricing. AS well as I believe the store would generate more revenue if the pricing was not so high to begin with. Based on talks with people, not forums.

The problem is that the pricing in the store doesn't reflect how resource-heavy was the production, but how much are people willing to pay for a livery.
Is it too much? Don't buy it and it will get a discount.

OP, I have to think that the price will see some adjustments. A fiver for some rather boring lights just smells like a mistake.

Again, vote with your wallet.
If the price actually is too high, then it will be obvious to frontier when they see the low revenue stream from that item. At which time I'd expect them to lower the price, or at least try some discounts sales to gauge whether the price is the issue, or the item itself just isn't that desirable.

Doesn't it?? But... the Xmas lights were the same. It is deliberate, I am afraid.

I honestly think us whining on forums is far more effective than, well, anything in regards to how FD handles their stuff. Including not buying.

saw "cockpit lights" and was temporarily excited that we might finally have a way to light up the dark cockpits; add 5000 disappointment points to my tally upon seeing it's the xmas lights with the colour removed. ah well.

i love the voice pack though.

I don't know if I agree with that, at least not for a brand new product and pandemonium at the office with the server update. I think what it will take to bring the price down is someone in sales noticing that a particular product isn't moving well. Something tells me Fdev isn't looking at the forum today, and when they do tune in their attention will be devoted to the patch itself.

I don't really care about the lights tbh, I'm more curious about the new voice. It seems a little steep, too, from what I've read.

Where can one preview this Celeste audio pack?
