How much of it was dedicated towards hiring more programmers/designers for Elite: Dangerous?

FD, how about this, I'd be willing to invest some USD if I could get a percentage of the profits, and assured that the money would be used towards ED. How many others would invest in FD:ED to see the game improved, and to get back a percentage of the profits?

That's my point. If I'm investing, that is, if I and several others are investing a large amount of capital, we have a say as to how we wanted that capital spent.

"Unnecessary new building" is a strong statement without knowing details. I can tell you that stuff like properly working heating, air condition, and functional plumbing do a lot in terms of motivation and productivity :p

I second this. If FD made the decision to move it's because they have outgrown their current workplace and need more space and better accommodations.

I wonder if they'll provide a nap-time room for Ed when he gets the sniffles? :p

Dammit! I hate when they move my threads! lol

That's not how (those sort of) shares work. I would suggest you contact David Braben or FD directly if you want to invest in that sort of specific way, but if you really wanted to do that (or had the amount you'd require to do that - i.e. as an investor), you'd already be doing it and not posting on the forums.

Buy shares in Frontier.
Go to the AGM in October.
Make your point there directly to the company directors.

Frontier are a company. They decide where their developer resources go. Right now that is Jurassic World Evolution.
You are a customer. You decide if you want to buy Frontier's products or not.

In today's economics corporate image is crucial, especially for a company trying to grow. So, unnecessary and unnecessary... Shouldn't really blame just the player when the game is what it is. Now, if all the players on this particular team are the best possible ones, is a different matter altogether. They rarely are.

The money went into growing the business. It is extremely hard especially with fluctuating economies to find the best balance between growth and stability.

No you're right. They should've bought space doors, 20K coffee machines and built several front companies including a mocap studio. That's the responsible way to spend money. [haha]
