Salvage is now a profitable profession!

Loads of new (for 3.0) Salvage items in demand at refinery stations. The headline? Antique Jewellery: 136,000CR per ton!

Move over, Antique Jewellery, because Large Survey Data Caches are deep in the black, rare as heck, and worth 200,775CR.

Yup :D

Glad you're happy, OP :)

See, this is precisely why I feel that-if caught-smuggling needs to be a Bounty Crime, not merely a fine. If payouts are so good, then fines are inconsequential. Risking a Bounty will make me far more inclined to rely on Silent Running when I approach the Mail slot.

Considering that illegal goods fines are so hefty, I was certainly inclined to take heat damage in my Python earlier while smuggling battle weapons.

Had I the scans went through, I probably would have been in for a couple hundred thousand. That was hefty enough for me to want to avoid it.

I see what Frontier are doing here - they're actually giving us something to find, deep, in the black.

Now that The Beige Wars are over, I might do an exploration trip, making sure I have plenty of cargo space, just in case. [up]

As someone who frequently does smuggling.....I am very keen for Smuggling to be converted from a Fine to a Bounty.

In theory worth 200k. If you hunt down somewhere actually offering peak price.

But then, Large surveys have had peak prices in the hundreds of thousands before this Beyond Chapter 1 update... the problem was always finding somewhere that offered that price to take them off your hands rather than less than 50% of it.

Yeah, I prated the hell out of them in beta. Cargo holds full of commodities that sell for upwards of 100k at Boom Black Markets. :D

Everything from Keelbacks to Corvettes.... the keelies are obviously the on the easier side of the target spectrum. :p

Also, smuggled goods (not stolen) get a big value boost at Black Markets (where they are illegal).

I always did find it odd that smuggled and illegal goods sold at below the market rate.
