Fiction Commander Boz's Book

From KS Support:

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out and taking the time to bring this to our attention.

We do our best to give project creators the freedom and support necessary to bring their new and exciting ideas to life. This often means that when projects launch on Kickstarter they’re in the early stages of development. While we encourage creators to communicate regularly through this process, it’s important to remember that each of them will approach this differently. In most cases, this may be the first time that a creator has the responsibility of communicating with a large support community. Still, we expect that creators will make every effort to complete their project as promised and keep backers updated along the way. We also hope that backers will remain understanding as everyone learns through this process.

I’m happy to reach out to this creator and offer our assistance. My goal is to open the lines of communication and encourage them to update more effectively moving forward. You should continue reaching out to them on your end as well. Through this joint effort, we’ll be reminding the creator to check in.

Thanks for being a thoughtful backer and member of the Kickstarter community. I hope you hear more from the project creator soon.

Best,
Katherine

Well, depending upon what you meant (veiled insult ?) so far no .. Which basically means KS can't help but I suspect the county courts will ;)

yes, veiled insult at the [Kohlrabi] corporate the kickstarter rep gave you both. i have huge antipathy for anyone that talks corporate :/

good luck with the small claims courts. cost vs reward is prohibitive, but sure it is rather an issue of making the point...

Interesting development by Kickstarter, summarized in this article on Polygon.com, whereby Kickstarter clarifies it's position on failed projects:

http://www.polygon.com/2014/9/19/6559893/kickstarter-terms-of-use-update-creators-failed-projects

As the article says, nothing has really changed, just some clarification through revised terms (although those 'new' terms only come into effect from 19 October).

The original announcement from Kickstarter is here:

Still no sign of Boz hey......i think we can unofficially assume that this project is pretty much dead tbh. Well done Boz, nice one.

I always said back in the KS that i didn't like the name Chad Baxter. You can just tell that this project was DooMed to fail. Instinct told me so.....

So, nothing happening at all with this. What a wasted opportunity for someone to fulfil a lifetime ambition. Makes me pretty angry actually, Boz was given an opportunity few of us will ever get and he did nothing with it.

Is he coming to the party. :p

I for one will not make him feel welcome if he did.

I don't mind the fact that there will not be a book by him - what I do mind is the total disrespect he's shown to all his backers.

What makes it worse in my mind is that I offered to bail him out but his pride got in the way.

Valid point that actually, checking on the KS site Boz kept all the benefits for his pledge tier i.e. he didn't offer any of the rewards as part of his KS. That kind of sticks in the throat,he got all the money and all the benefits and produced absolutely nothing in return.

hmpf, i hate to agree but this smacks of failed ks.

but more than that there is a failed dream behind it. a dream from another player of the old elite. he had high hopes to fulfill a lifelong ambition and failed.

from my conversations with mark i have him down as a genuinely troubled soul.

i do not hold any hard feelings, there are enough of them about. and i understand human failings, facing plenty myself on a daily basis.

this has not been ideally communicated but it is what it is.

godspeed chad baxter!

Hey all, I have felt compelled to report this project to Kickstarter (done via the "Report this project to Kickstarter" button on the bottom of the Kickstarter Campaign page). I encourage others to do the same.
I'm sorry Boz, but enough is enough.

I've also done the same for Nathanael Page's KS book: Survivor and C.L's book: Elite Chronicles.
