Ship kits nerf

Hahah yeh the fangs are shorter.

Ugly attachment anyway.

Doesn't matter if you find the part ugly or not, what does matter is the fact that FD clips the shipkit to an ugly mess without even mentioning it.
The picture shows only the nose part but wings and spoilers have been clipped too, they look out of place now imo.
We've paid money for a beautiful shipkit, not this mess.

Who cares if the wings were a bit to wide for the platform, the ship looked awesome, now it looks like a plucked duck.

Hope you guys can see this. Have a good night....

Christ. I was going to buy that at Christmas, glad I went for the Python one instead now. I had still planned to get the Cutter one though, definitely won't be bothering now - the prongs were one of the major attractions but it looks like someone's just stuck a couple of pepperamis on the front of it there. :D

The salt must flow

Let's be fair, that looks like a bag of to me compared to the original one. Shame that FDev seem to have restricted what they can do with larger ships quite severely due to the landing pad sizes.

I didn't notice. I'm sure they had a logical reason. Not sure I'd consider a refund over a sizing change.

How can cosmetics clip anything?
They have no in game physics/hitboxes/whatever it's called.
Unless you mean poor graphics ie disappearing wings.

In the context of 3D graphics, "clipping" is when one model passes through another when it shouldn't.

If anyone is genuinely upset by it, and feels they have bought something otherwise than was advertised, maybe they should approach FD for a refund? They might be sympathetic to the request, since it was they who changed a purchased item after the event.

This is hilarious, an entire thread of salt over alterations to a ship kit. Keep it up, the screenshots are great.

Bookmarked this just so I can quote it when you're on here moaning they made the console in the Anaconda two shades darker or something. :D We all have little things about the game that irk us and in this case it happens to be something that the people moaning paid eight quid for. The kits are entirely cosmetic items, that's their only purpose, so changing the aesthetics of them is actually kind of central to what those people paid their money for.

If I'd bought the Onionhead Cobra paint and then I logged in after 3.0 to find they'd replaced the onionhead decal with one of a turd, I'd probably be irked.

Actually that's a lie, I'd just buy an Asp Scout to put it on.

The ship clipped through the landing bay, they had a good reason to alter the parts. If people have this big an issue with that, requesting a refund is probably gonna be more effective than crying on the forums about how the cutter is ruined because it no longer phases through the landing bay.

The decision to purchase a cosmetic item is based on what it looks like at the time of purchase.

If said item is changed, or needs to be changed, there shouldn't even be a question of the response if a refund is requested.

No question at all.

Maybe I'm blind but I have never seen anyone complain about the shipkit being larger then the landing pad.
I've seen people disliking the kit and a lot of people loving it but I've never seen a rant about it's size.

As said before, the kit is pure vanity and I loved the way it looked, totaly worth my money.
Now they just alter it to a proportional mess and yes I'm upset about that, this is not what I bought or would've paid money for.
10 euros isn't that much in general but I payed it nonetheless, for an item I liked, they changed it just like that, ignoring the paying customer.

I praise FD when they do something good, doesn't mean that I keep my mouth shut when they screw up like this, if it was a free item then yup no problem but it isn't free.

I hope they'll change the store pictures because those don't represent the actual product at all anymore.
