General / Off-Topic Stay safe UK CMDRs - it's not just cold in space, apparently!

I live in the Great Plains area of the United States, so blizzards are not uncommon. Here's our unofficial guide to surviving a major snowstorm:

1) Buy all the milk, bread, and eggs you can find even though you don't necessarily eat that much milk, bread, or eggs usually
2) Buy a new snow shovel to replace your old one, 24 hours after the 6" snow storm hits
3) Drive as though nothing unusual has happened
4) If you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, drive faster than usual because 4WD means infinite traction
5) Shovel driveway (I think maybe just "drive" in British English?) and sidewalks within 8 hours of storm, per city ordinance
6) Shovel driveway again after city plows the snow back from the roadway onto your driveway

Most importantly,

7) Stay home and play ED until the internet goes down and then all is lost; might as well eat some bread and eggs at that point

CMDR i agree i have bought extra GUINNESS and stocked up on pizzas and curry i live in the west midlands UK and it's coming down like immigrants into a new country non stop.

The City sending plows? Not likely they don't have that much money [haha]

It did make driving home last night fun though, I had a few sideways dorifto moments :p

1) Too late because everyone else has already bought it all. Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Lidl only have 14 Family-sized multi-packs of Monster Munch, 3 Pepperami's and a pack of Tic-Tacs (broken) between them.
2) Snow shovel? Is that like a garden spade with a piece of cardboard tied to it?
3) Obvs. But if you DO get stuck in the snow, just spin your wheels really fast: The heat from the friction will melt the snow.
4) Impossible. Everyone here already drives at full throttle everywhere.
5) Just sprinkle some table salt about the place. That'll do.
6) Snow plow (sorry, plough)? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
7) Luckily, we all cook with gas.
