COVAS selection seems to not match the actual voice

Today I purchased the new COVAS and selected it in Livery.
When I left the station the voice was the male (free) voice not the Frontier points voice I unlocked and selected.

so just curious if anyone else had this experience as in the preview it’s the right voice but not while flying.

Im going to test a few more ships first but just wondering as my lunch break is over.

EDIT: So what’s going on is once purchased Celeste moves from the third selection to the first, pushing Verity to second and Victor to third. No idea why this happens but after you select, go back and check the order. Weird but no bug just alphabetical arrangement after being unlocked cause it’s sort by name ascending.

Pruor it it was sort by Pack. Maybe i clicked the sort but never saw it until just now

? your not sure .. and your post get my attention ?? test first then post ??!!!

I may have misinterpreted your comment but I purchased it, used the menu to test each of the three and assigned the third that I purchased.

Upon leaving the station in the Beluga, the voice was the 2nd not the third.

The only other testing I had planned was to equip the third COVAS in my other ships....but I had to work.

Yeah, noticed that French(?) sounding voice (Celeste?) doesn't sound the same once selected as it does in the sample you can hear before you buy it. Bit disappointed to be honest. I'm sure the FD mega brain's will look into it though :)

This

i don't mind it but much of the dialogue has an almost British accent to my Australian ears.

hoping to that in future for the paid content they can add a bit more dialogue as well. I wouldn't object to paying a bit more for that either

Celeste...as she is on my PC with the HCS voice pack :)

i just bought Celeste and noticed that she sounds a bit more like a brittish lady. Not that i dislike the COVAS she actually sounds good but it was not anything like the one being marketed in FD-Store.

One of the best things about elite on PC, what a great add on. If I could transfer my Cobra MkIV, canonn decals and Frontier Store purchases I would strongly consider getting a pc to play elite on.

It costs though... ten quid for Voice attack and another 20 for each of the HCS voice packs. I think FDev have done well with COVAS and a fiver in the store.

Given the price...having a ship's computer that I can give commands to... and one that answers back... is worth more than that cost in immersion for me [yesnod]

Yeah the interaction and immersion if you value that is so much better and deeper. I MIght even get this some day.

Yep maybe buyer beware...I guess
Hm, I thought she sounded exactly as she does in the preview. The only difference is what's being said; long, flowing sentences vs the short, functional in-ship notifications.

I wish they'd add more lines, and as a complete whim it would great if the COVAS system also read out the GalNet. That would require a lot of work, though, to re-record a voice for conversion as opposed to just short scripted lines.

...Having Jen Taylor (Cortana) or Tricia Helfer (Caprica Six/EDI) would be a kind of gold standard for the ship voice, but I somehow doubt they'd want to incur their probably fairly hefty fees compared to whoever they're using now.

Not had the OP's problem, but have noticed what others have said about Celeste. French-ish in Livery, but different in the cockpit. Sounded too weird for me, so I went back to Verity.

I'd like some of the traffic controllers to be available as COVAS voices... The OTT Northern woman would be great! :D

I had the same thought last night

The HCS voice pack I'd pay twice for...
