Engineering grades level up before you 100%

Quick question, is there any need losing materials to maxing out a lower grade once the higher grade unlocks, or just jumping straight to the higher grade and working on that to maximum or until level up again?

I don't see any stats loss, but I'm presuming there could be unless you strictly 100% each grade prior to moving into working the next to max. Anyone clear on how this works and able to advise? Thanks.

No. Unless you don't have the mats for the next level, there's no point in maxing out the lower grades.

Yeah. I just noticed hopping to a higher grade before hand automatically maxes out the previous. I guess the mechanic is there incase you wish to max that level and never go beyond it.

Good to know and wish I hadn't wasted so many extra materials on doing it 100% each level. Lol.
