Now that FD has had such great success with its shopping simulator ...

How about a science fiction game?

Apparently that's coming Q4 this year. ie: A serious attempt (after nearly 4yrs) to move the place holder gameplay for mining and exploration forwards... Going to be interesting to see how high they can (or wish to) raise the bar.

Got all my fingers, arms and toes crossed that it - and the payable DLC - truly moves some of the game forwards...

Well - you do make a point.

I've always wondered why engineers that can performance fit space ships are in such short supply. Are the services they supply illegal? If the business is so lucrative why don't the manufacturers of the ships offer the performance features as an option on purchase and charge an arm and a leg for it. I know that I'd pay just about any amount of credits to avoid <cough - cough - gag> the excessive waste of time it takes to play the grizzled prospector and hunt the stuff down. Stupid - and still Stupid.

And to anyone that wants to light up and flame me - go ahead - I've got my fire retardent suit on.

I'm pretty sure that at least some of the engineers are in fact operating illegally. Engineers are supposed to be secretive and highly specialized characters operating within a legal grey area.

No amount of stretched logic could explain the engineers. It's 100% gameplay-driven mechanic and is best to be ignore by lore entirely.
