So i set off to do this Ram Tah 3.0 mission and flew all the way to COL 173.... i then started watching Obsidian Ants guide and he mentions about going to Meene System / Mitchell Dock and sign up... Now i havent done this yet ..... Do i have to sign up first or can i do it later on?

I believe you need to sign up first. Sorry...
I think you need to dock at Mitchell Dock and then Ram Tah sends you a message. I don't think you have to sign up like a CG. Unless I missed something.

This is one thing that drives me crazy about this game - I just got back from my first trip out to see the new Guardian sites. I return to Meene (since that's what Ram Tah asks people to do in the GalNet article), turn in some exploration data, THEN I get the email for the Guardian Mission. I've got dozens of Guardian mats and data from the trip, and a cargo hold full of Guardian tech, and I can't use any of it for the mission.
Sigh. I love Elite Dangerous, but this inability to find out about much of anything from in-game sources really bugs me.
Yes i agree.... I saw Ram Tah's request on Galnet news and took it that meant just go and get the stuff for him... After research I then found out that i had to go to meene first and get an invite off him. It is frustrating and i do wonder how on earth some commanders manage to find all this out without help. But I love the game so much that i am very forgiving
