Growing up and becoming a teenager back in the 80's I remember walking into a local game shop to buy a spectrum game and seeing a display for the MB Vectrex....

I was in love.

After all these years I'd still love to own on and keep an eye on Ebay etc to try to get one at a reasonable price, one day I hope to get my grubby paws on my very own piece of gaming history.

For those young whippersnappers who may not have heard of the mighty Vectrex.

Interesting. I do not remember these machines

It is true that I did not play the arcade games at the time

Well after 30 odd years, and a very nervous wait to see if the Couriers played footbal with it in transit.

Time to start collecting the bits and pieces associated with it.

1st on the list is a Minestorm Overlay.

If anyone has any places to try or bits etc.... :)

Very happy atm.

Had a little bit of a play last night, amazing to think it's a 30+ year old machine.

Will consider bringing it to the next ED event see if we can raise a bit of money for one of the charities being supported.

My mate had a Vectrex. To this day he regrets selling it.

I’ve seen scans of the overlays, you can print them out with an inkjet (yikes, I nearly said bubblejet) OHP transparency gels.

OHPs are something else millenials might not know.
Stands for Orthoganal Holographic Projection.

I've still got a Vectrex, but I honestly can't remember the last time I switched it on.

Now you tell me..... :p

Bought a multicart for it so have all the original games and some homebrew to play with.
