To me it looks like you are saying that all products are always released 100% bug free while Frontier would be a notable exception. I tried to point out how bugs are pretty much industry standard. If it's not what you are saying I am sorry that I misinterpreted your post.

I agree with you but even for a small company, the QA should be done differently than the actual one.

It seems like nobody bothered to create a bug report about it during beta, so I blame the community for most of these minor issues.

Skimmer missions GONE. Mining missions GONE... what's next? Courier missions? then.. trading missions?

We'll end up with a sandbox, with no box lol.

*chuckles*

This week has been better than Eastenders for drama.

I meant there is a limit at it and i think it is getting worse with the time for FD. And i think people are quite nice with FD about it. It would have been EA or Ubisoft games, game would have been burn to the ground.

Game is sometime worse than before update. It is more downgrading than upgrading.

But there's a boat load of new functionality.

A couple of mission types have been disabled while they fix the related bugs.

Keep things in perspective please, this is not just some patch where they introduced two bugs and nothing else.

It's the other way around though. I remember the time they introduced Skynet AI, deleted all our exploration data or made the game unplayable for weeks for some people. This time we have two mission types that paid too much under certain circumstances and that got disabled within hours. I can't see what all the drama is about, but I do see how some people just like to complain a lot.

i dont have access to beta, but how long beta takes? I heard something about days .... in that case dont blame community...

Everyone had access to the beta, it was public after all and took 3 weeks IIRC.

shield regeneration in SC ?
data drop 1 unstead of 3
wing missions exploits
planet surface mission exploits
passengers bulk disapearance
....

List is long..

There are more than 2 but nobody has done a youtube video on it...

FD beta looks more as performace testing then real bugs beta .

I guess the truth is somewhere in the middle. FDEV could make sure to fix more bugs before release, especially by giving the RC another week of public beta testing. On the other hand major releases also fix a lot of old bugs and introduce interesting new content, many people are happy when FDEV releases an update earlier rather than later. They just don't come here complaining about it...

I thought gold rush were exploits ?

Yes. Not sure what you are trying to say. Mining and Skimmer missions are disabled. How does that stop me from starting the game?

Hahaha christ almighty. They'll nerf any moneymaking exploit with a nuke from orbit within 24 hours, but god forbid we expect hotfixes for the bugs and problems they cause in anything less than a few weeks. Really shows what this game means to you guys.

I guess all that it shows is that disabling a certain mission type is not complicated and can be done server side. But that's just me applying logic so don't mind me.

Bit hard to comment as I don't know the details of any of the above.

One thing I will say though, game testing is significantly more difficult than testing retail software.

Especially so when you're looking at testing a procedurally generated environment where many many inputs add variation with an expectation to unpredictable outcomes.

And you can double up on that difficultly when you run in a system where data and state is communicated on an unreliable peer to peer network that is inherently and so inevitably "lossy".

I can only imagine it'd be like having a relentless chaos monkey running on prod.

I challenge the community to NOT mention a word of the 'next' gold rush. See if it stays in game :)

Bet people can't help themselves and publicly broadcast it..

teehee
