I Like It

I like Life cereal, and I like the 3.0 update. It's not perfect, and there's tons of bugs to fix, but all in all, I like it. I'm especially impressed with the jaw-dropping new planets (I've never known anything but the beige plague). In contrast to all the negative threads going right now, I just wanted to let Frontier know that I like it - ED 3.0 (and Life cereal).

I agree with the opinion of the update and the cereal. Overall my experience has been good with both. New cured planets look really good and I like the new Engineers and per-mat storage.

I like it too. Had great fun zipping around in the Chieftain testing various loadouts and currently re-engineering my Corvette to be even more powerful.
The new materials system is great because I can hoover up everything and sort things out at the trader later.
Thanks to the new rewards system, I also got myself promoted to King and Admiral. These were dreary and grindy tasks I had put off for the longest time.

I also like the latest update. Having loads more room for materials have given me a good reason to drive the SRV again and collect minerals. I stopped collecting previously because I didn't want to dump high quality materials for iron and the like. No worries now! I spent a lot of time just driving around the other night enjoying climbing out of a massive crater and collecting rocks. Something I haven't done in a long while.

I also really like the new mission reward system where you have the option for credits, materials, or reputation. Seems like it'd make ranking up with Empire and Federation much less grindy as well. Wish I could've taken advantage of this while I was ranking up. I can see where this will also come in handy with a few system permits that I've yet to unlock too.

Also have just started looking at engineering modules again. So far so good. Seems really straightforward now. I didn't like it too much before (too confusing) and there were a few times I made major downgrades to modules on accident. Seems like that's a thing of the past now. Very nice.

Yep, played 3.0 for the first time on the 7th and am loving a few things.

Planet Graphics are awesome.
Engineer update is great.
Wing delivery missions give me a sense of achievement when I solo them, and the choice of extra rep over credits and materials is awesome.

Overall a win I think.

I'm liking it, what I've played of it so far.
I appreciate lowering the panels in the SRV, increased material storage and traders, planet surfaces, mission rewards, etc.
Bugs yep, there always are.

As for cereals and bugs, concerning the use of insects as a food source, I once heard a food scientist state 'Well with modern food processing techniques you end up eating a lot of insects anyway'. I believed him. (Sorry if you're eating breakfast, it's just a little bit of extra protein OK!)

Yes, the planets look a lot better! I'm currently returning from the Enigma Expedition and taking the long way back to gather a bunch of first-finds. My pace has slowed considerably, because the new, colorful planets keep enticing me to land and explore in my SRV.

The newly increased material limits are also a factor. I'm now able to gather a lot of low-level materials, which appear to be required for the updated engineers.

I am back playing a few more hours per day again, so 3.0 is a win for me as well. My Elite addiction continues on into 2018 :)

Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, FTW!

Also, I finally have something engineered as the process now makes sense.

I had Shreddies for breakfast :)

I like the new update too. The planets looks fantastic now, I really enjoy driving around on them and just taking in the vistas. The Chieftan is fun. Engineers is better than it used to be - at least I don't have to manage my inventory any more, there's no more fruit machine mechanics, and the remote workshop saves a lot of hassle (aside from not being able to convert legacy modules). The ignore list is a nice feature for mining - no more manually venting indite and other rubbish (just need an auto ignore now for maxed out materials). And I think on the whole, the new C&P system is a step in the right direction but may need a bit of tweaking.

I like it, would like offline map of the mats trader tables and guide to the planet colours, is dark red, yellow or other best for arsenic for example, no idea I chose dark red and found a bit.
Now have 55ly out of my asp..
What to do with the legacy mods? As I am keeping them to compare new ranges.

I'm not sure about the colors either. The most reliable method is to use your DSS and then look at the planet/moon details in the system map. If you're looking for arsenic, the Deciat system is full of it, which is convenient since that's Farseer's system.

My AspX gets 56 lys stripped for exploration (god-roll in old system). I re-engineered it to the max in the beta and got ~3 more lys including a special. It took me 2 months IRL to engineer it the first time (including gathering materials), but only 15 min to upgrade it (with materials I already had).

Overall, I think the new engineers are an improvement, but I don't like the fact you need to start at the bottom tier for every new module.
