Open play trolls

I mentioned to a friend of mine who lurks here that we hadn't had one of these threads for a while.

Welcome to open, OP. Either learn to fight back, or run. Sitting there caught in the headlights like a rabbit doesn't work in open.

I disagree, it works fine. Just not for OP.

Honestly OP watch the vid, enjoy open and thence the salty tears of the griefers you leave behind.

Oh! So I'm to welcome them with open arms and thanks them for using 3 PvP engineered FDLs to kill my trader? LulZ

Of course not. The key is to know these players are out there so you can avoid them.

So, Solo...

That certainly is an option given to you when you login to the game. If you feel that the potential of getting destroyed by another player in the game is such a crushing experience that you simply can't stand for it ... then yes ... you might prefer playing in Solo.

Or if you can't be bothered to spend your leisure time with people who enjoy trying to ruin the game for you, obviously.

Less than an hour in open play and killed twice by trolls for no reason, no bounty.

While doing the community goal at that. Seriously what do you gain by ruining open. Play experience for new players

Oh, those weren't trolls or griefers! They're just PVP'ers! /s

Check out the Mobius private group, it's PVE only, no murder-hobos to ruin your day.

Look for a private group called Mobius, ask to be added to the list and enjoy the silence. Don't be content for someone else's game.

Sorry Bro, that's just troll talk. If I am in open, I expect to get interdicted at some point by a player, I'm power play active, Fed aligned and often carry juicy cargo. Of course I'll attract interest from players, Having a plan (or 3) is part of playing the game. Your statement says nothing other than an attempt to continue a lost argument. Grow up Bud, life really is too short.

Thanks again. My point proven twice.
RL is short, the few moments outside it I want to have fun not grief.
If I wanted grief I would be back at Emergercy Room saving lifes from griefers and salters from real world.
And I am grown up bud , I can diferentiate game from life.

I'm fairly new so thanks for all the nice comments, so doing anything in open you should just expect to be killed for no reason at any time?

In High traffic area's YES, pretty much...if you're nowhere near Starter Systems or Engineers or Tech Brokers or Community Goals or Station Orbitals where there's alot of Activity...then you're usually OK...
If that's needlessly restrictive...then why not simply head to Solo...there'll be no annoying "Lag" when you jump into a system or out of Supercruise either...for a nice added benefit too!

Or alternatively...if you feel your free time is a valuable resource to be used enjoying yourself, rather than as the butt of a joke for a bunch of people who's idea of Elite Dangerous is merely spoiling it for others...
Opt out...don't be their amusement...go Solo or PVE and have fun yourself...whilst simultaneously sticking a metaphorical middle-finger up to them...as there's NOTHING they hate more than people opting for PVE or Solo...

I was dueling with just one such baddy when my wife gave me the dark look and marched out of the office muttering something about how boring I was and how I was "not getting any later tonight." I, of course, was logged out 15 seconds later:)

& then a bit later, "logged in", right? ;)

I'm disappointed you would frame it this way.

Especially after admitting the way you survive in open is basically hiding. That's a pretty sucky reflection on the game.

I think you misspelled "pathetic excuse to grief other players".

Bingo.
