It was known a while ago it won't gonna happen. Those into know are astonished how this façade is still kept because of media giving a zero nuts what's going on there.
The connections (financial and otherwise) between the media (especially the gaming press) and this project is the most interesting aspect to the whole affair...

The explanation was linked already, but yeah: chickens don't react well to the sight of blood (maybe there's still some raptor in there…) and are known to attack and pick to death other chickens that are bleeding. Those glasses are meant to hide the fact that there's bleeding going on and keep the chickens well-behaved.
A rather apt simile for this situation, I figured.
It's posts like this that make me wonder if the Doc is correct and CIG really have hired a PR firm to go around posting on forums and stuff.
But I also have to recognise there ARE people out there like this.
Chickens do go after blood and are quite the little predators with anything small enough to be eaten, so I can see the colored glasses being effective. But even as a really soppy chicken keeper who spoils them rotten I bump off and eat any that cause even minor injuries let alone eye pecking.
You can also get chicken nappies for house chickens, crazy but theoretically useful. I had mine in for a few days when everything was buried under snow and frozen solid and they are little poop monsters, the house is now entirely woodlouse free though.
Wasn't there some drama and scandal with INN turning out to be a paid rep management company or something ?.
It's just the perfectly normal 'don't bite the hand that feeds you' syndrome.
A long time ago a well known motoring magazine wrote a scathing review of a new car. Having sight of the review prior to publication the large and well known manufacturer threatened to remove all advertising from the magazine and never again provide their cars for review, unless the review was either spiked or rewritten to be favourable.
And that's how the real world works.
What can CIG threaten people with though "we won't let you see our latest build that wasn't completed on time for your review" doesn't really cut the mustard.
I think the media steer clear of putting the boot into SC because they've seen what the fanbase is like, why deal with all that toxic drama when the only people you could save with a frank story are the ones who will be angriest at you. Everyone else already knows it's over.
