comment: only deliver the bare minimum so they are able to tack on a cash shop
reply: that is unreasonable of you .. it’s actually a cash shop with the bare minimum tacked on. Completely different.

This is not rose tinted glasses anymore, it's rose tinted horse eyeshields
So reading about this from various sources it seems like everything that CR wants - maximum fiedelity - everything has to be broken down into separate things the game has to track - etc. etc. is the exact opposite of what needs to be done in order to make the thing run properly and acheive the networking capabilities required to make all that stuff work for 1000s of players interacting in real time.
It's really not going to happen is it? I mean they can fart around at the edges tarting up cosmetic stuff and introducing new broken features - but they really are cattle trucked at this point aren't they?
Unless CR suddenly stops being CR and listens to his people who know the stuff he doesn't...
It was known a while ago it won't gonna happen. Those into know are astonished how this façade is still kept because of media giving a zero nuts what's going on there.
Or maybe like the tiny red spectacles they would sometimes put on chicken.
...?
You what? Sorry for brief tangent but I think that deserves a link
I just looked it up. Supposedly chickens were given glasses so they wouldn't peck each others eyes out.

It's posts like this that make me wonder if the Doc is correct and CIG really have hired a PR firm to go around posting on forums and stuff.
But I also have to recognise there ARE people out there like this.
The connections (financial and otherwise) between the media (especially the gaming press) and this project is the most interesting aspect to the whole affair...
It's just the perfectly normal 'don't bite the hand that feeds you' syndrome.
A long time ago a well known motoring magazine wrote a scathing review of a new car. Having sight of the review prior to publication the large and well known manufacturer threatened to remove all advertising from the magazine and never again provide their cars for review, unless the review was either spiked or rewritten to be favourable.
And that's how the real world works.
