Open play trolls

Less than an hour in open play and killed twice by trolls for no reason, no bounty.

Are you pledged to a power, by chance? I'm amazed how many people join PowerPlay without realizing that this paints a bullseye on you for every other power player to legitimately shoot at. Sandro has basically said that, "PowerPlay is for people who want to engage in PvP."

If not, then please take no offense in my reply.

While doing the community goal at that. Seriously what do you gain by ruining open. Play experience for new players

Why were you trading in open at a CG of all places?? You know theres nothing to gain from it right?
Solo and private groups were added to the game for people who dont want to engage in PVP.

Maybe Use them?

Yesterday, I was "set-up" for assassination while in my Type-9. I was lured to a wing mission away from home, in hopes of Big money! As a trader, I happily obliged. Upon reaching my buddy's mission station, I noticed a ship in SC waiting to drop out (in hindsight). As soon as I dropped out, I was fired upon. Did I combat log? Did I launch my fighter? Did I turn & fight? NO! I was drained to 8% hull in less than 5 seconds. I didn't even have time to RUN! Did you read my post yesterday about this? No. I didn't whine. I landed, repaired my ship, collected the remainder of the mission cargo, and set a course for home (not the mission objective). Once halfway there, my buddy asked why I was going home (I knew then, HE set me up, and was tracking me). So, I left the wing, changed course by making a couple random jumps, and didn't go HOME... but to a neighboring system with my WANTED ships. Dropped the mission specific cargo In a star, switched to my Pirate FAS, THEN... THEN, I went home. And manned my Contacts, waiting for the moment to defend my Type-9 (*wink). Was I butthurt, NO, I was EXCITED!

That's a great video, I've added a couple of links to it in my begginner's guide. Made me laugh as well!

Sure is a great video - it teaches you more about basic outfitting and survival in 15 minutes that most people learn for themselves in hundreds of hours of playing the game.

Unfortunately, it seems some technical difficulty made it disappear from my post. Derned internets.

Here's a link instead, OP.... I highly encourage you to watch this video, wherein a top PvPer teaches you basic survival skills for PvP encounters. The video has literally changed people's game, and allowed them enjoy Open play much more.

The technical difficulty was probably: oh no! A video by SDC! Remove it quick!

I murderhobo'd myself earlier because I was lonely in open.

Friend of mine was out at Dav's Hope so I took a DBX out and was buzzing him at high speed (negative ghost rider, the pattern is full). I may have misjudged my rate of descent ever so slightly after a few passes even Iceman would have proud of, and hit the 'Dav's Hope' entrance at around 400m/s, skimmed off the surface and hit a lamp-post.

Griefers everywhere, I tell ya.

Nerf lamp-posts.

I could use some PvP training honestly. I’m not a bad pilot, and generally can hold it in a decent fight. But I’ll lose to a PvP dedicated pilot 100% of the time. I can run, but I’d rather not.

It's about time I got myself over there too and actually had a serious go at it.

When I'm set up on my PC properly, I'll be there. PvP at 15fps on a tiny laptop screen isn't the best, I'd imagine.

Prolly not lol. I like doing my fighting with my Oculus personally. Have a much bigger view and can target things by looking at them. Also, you’ve always got free look, so I can watch their every move while maneuvering my ship even when they’re not directly in front of me. Gives you an edge.
