Chemical distillery/Chemical manipulators....where are you hiding?

G'day all,
been hunting for the above two items for the last couple days. Before 'Beyond' they would be located by dropping into a convoy dispersal pattern, but after two days of fruitless searching I have found none at all.

Q1. has Ed changed the formular that spawns these item ?

Reading thru the Forum it seems that the thing to do now is go into a Haz Recource area and pick up cargo drops.

Perhapes if I do this then I can swap the picked up items for what I need with the commodity broker.

Q2. If I want to pin a blueprint is it correct that it can only be pinned at the Engineer's site?

Thankyou for your assistance.

It truly is a place to go for those particular Manufactured Materials.

Blueprints can only be pinned at the Engineer's Workshop.

I have had quite a few of the items you mentioned, by killing wanted ships at Nav Beacons, less hectic than a Res or CZ, plenty of time to scoop and you don't have to watch your back.

Ok, what am i missing please? I have seen a couple of these threads and no one talks about the traders.
I just collect any old stuff that I find and then trade for what i need... I find that easy as....

Everyone talks about the traders, some Cmdr's want to know how to find stuff. Stop with the traders, we know about the traders.

Or am I missing something?

Distilleries are really common in combat aftermath signal sources. You can also find manipulators there as well as other g4 mats. Same with encoded, although more often than not you will get a data beacon instead of good mats. Still, I had one with 3 chemical manipulators and 2 compound shieldings.

The real answer is. Go to anarchy system in outbreak, find convoy beacon full of t-9's t-6, t-7, haulers, sidewinders. Kill them all.
Prolly a dozen or so mats to be picked up and maxed out. Take plenty of collector limpits. :)

Even the data beacons can have treasure in them when you scan them. Assorted firmwares, Datamined Wake Exceptions and Abnormal Compact Emissions Data have dropped from those.

G'day all.
well I found a method that suits my game-play style.
1. Sit outside the Station with a data scanner.
2. Go to Haz Rez (High) shoot up wanted ships and collect the bounty and what they drop.
3.A quick trip onto the planet surface to gather the materials you finally require and ..
5. Then finally,. of to the material trader of choice to do any exchanges/trading required.
Thankyou all for your comments.

A HazRes is a good spot to hunt materials, I have been doing the CG in Othime (or something like that) on both accounts mainly to stock up on materials, I gotta lot of ships to convert and will need a lot of mats. Its slow going, nothing to really hunt in the CG system itself, cept the Nav Beacon, so I head to a system nearby that has a Haz Res. Kill a ship, scoop the mats, find another ship to kill and so on, its a slow process cause I have to stop after each kill to scoop, but I have found all sorts of mats, every once in awhile an Anaconda will drop and exquisite focus crystal, which is real nice. I have stocked up on 7000 of the 15650 possible materials to fill my library, and its taken a bit longer to acquire that many than I though it would, but oh well, it keeps me busy.....

1) Go to the Conflict Zone.
2) Shoot down 20 ships
3) Collect numberless Grade 4 materials including a lot of Chemical distillery/Chemical manipulators.
