New C&P. An Explanation. It's not that hard I promise.

Few things to add;

Entering a system you're wanted in, may not show 'WANTED" on the dash. I assume a bug

Friendly fire incident in a res while multicrewing, will add a Bounty to the most of expensive ship of the extra crew own. Anoversight I assume. Example: I go to newbie zone. Ask a noob do they want to crew for me, then go on a killing spree in the HazRez. Then go on abounty enforcing spree. Adds a bounty to my ships (fine I just go and payoff 30k) how-ever the noob is left with a choice' A. Keep the earned credits and hold the bounty, and for sure lose their ship, or B. Lose all earned credits.

Now in this case, a fine should be added tot he multicrew, not a bounty. No crime was committed in the other ships, therefore no Bounty should be added.

Example: If I go on a speeding run in my Merc, and get caught. I pay the fine etc. DO all the occupants get fines on their cars?

Good guide. But I'm pretty sure there has always been multiple criminal jurisdictions in any one system and that your wanted status could change depending on which part of a system you were in. That's not new to 3.0

That would be fine if the Cops didn;t try to interdict you, if you're not wanted? :D

If you mean An oversight by me not mentioning the mc aspects then yes I missed that bit. Lol I will add it in though. Thank you for bringing it up.

About not showing wanted it could be a bug, but if your not in the jurisdiction that wants you in that system when you enter it then it shouldn't show it until you are. It's hard to say what's bugged and not right now. But my understanding is you won't neccesarily always show as wanted in the system, only within jurisdictions you're wanted in, within in the system. So if many factions it may not show? This is partly why I started this. The explanations given in the patch notes and stuff wasn't quite informative as far as how it all meshes together in game. [blah]

As far as the bounties in mc going to most expensive ships of crew members yes this is how they set it up. And yes it's tied to taking the money you earn in mc. So it can be avoided. I believe it was an attempt to curb some mc griefing.

Also it seems the beyond and c&p threads in suggestion/ news areas or wherever they are that the devs were really active in isn't getting attention that much from them anymore. There are a few things that probably need some tweaking or at least some thought and discussion around with the new systems.

We also have interstellar bounties and KWS changes coming in a patch soon, idk which one but they said they were almost ready I think.

Its confusing for me. I was bounty hunting in a RES and I was in the middle of a fight with some wanted ships and suddenly got attacked by authorities... I barely got out of there alive and I had a 100 cr bounty (!). But it doesnt even tell me why (???). I check on 4 and it says galaxy wide. I have notoriety 0 but now Im forced to go and find some Interstellar Factor to get rid of it. Quite annyoing if you are far away like in Ceos/Sothis.

Im guessing I must have grazed some authority ship but that should have been a fine.... Not liking the system so far.

I was browsing the forums using my smartphone and stumbled upon a "not that hard" line followed by a seemingly never ending explanation, which I found kinda funny. That's all, really.
[haha] Haha, that is funny.

Also funny cuz the "not that hard" line does sorta apply. When you read something long and it makes some intuitive sense, that makes it easy to follow and understand. :D

It finally matters to the exploiters now.

This latest issue with 3.0.3 outfitting makes me a little worried though. Worried that FD aren't going to handle hot modules well going forwards, here are my suggestions:

  • Outfitting should not be available with anonymous access.
  • Outfitting in jurisdictions that you aren’t wanted in, should be unrestricted.
  • Need extra UI to determine what ships/modules have bounties attached.
  • Equipping a clean ship with a hot module should be possible, with a ?% chance of being detected as wanted because of the hot module (in the correct jurisdiction).
  • “Cleaning” hot ships/modules is an all or nothing affair. You pay off the bounty, or you don’t.
  • This means a hot ship and its modules' wanted status are tied to the bounty. Pay the bounty, don't clean the ship.

I do intend to update it, but there is currently a feedback thread going and some pretty significant changes are coming that will change a lot of the penalties. How they are paid of, also hot modules etc. so I'm just kind of waiting it out for now.

Most of the op is still fairly accurate, and will still help people through navigating the major points.

The below statement may sound a bit dismissive, it's not meNt that way at all. Just an FYI, and urging of you want to get your voices heard of some c&p changes. ;)

If you or anyone really want your thoughts, complaints, suggestions heard and considered directly by FDev here is your best chance right now I think. They are open to ideas of changing quite about about outfitting and bounty and paying them right now. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/416981-Hot-Ships-and-Bounties
