No love for the lone wolf :-(

They can be completed solo, most of the cargo ones can be completed with a type 9 in just a few runs. As for wing massacre or assassinationns, those are more difficult,

Yeah. I started a thread on this a while ago. Dont know what happened to it. I went to a system with 30 trde missions. 1 of them was a non wing mission and i didnt have the rep to take it.
So many things are stuffed right now i might take another year off from the game.

Yeah did a couple of fetch missions with my Cutter and then swore never to do them again.

The source and return missions? I tried to do one, i had to find 681 units of nerve agents. I wasnt paying attention amd rammed a skimmer near the station, lost ~12mil credits and so i dropped the mission

The missions I've been seeing come in basically two varieties:

* Haul 10 tons of something / kill 10 ships for 100k credits
* Haul 2000 tons of something / kill 200 ships for 5 million credits

In my 32T cargo capacity all-purpose Keelback, neither option feels particularly appealing. The wing ones seem to assume I'm in a wing of big 500T ships and are completely out of range of what I can do in reasonable time. The few non-wing left rarely have worthwhile rewards (credit, material, or otherwise).

So for now I've more or less given up on missions.

It used to be that everything worth doing in Elite could be done in a Cobra Mk3, with minimal need to switch outfitting. That's less and less true these days, and I mourn the loss.

Easy. If you log in solo the board should be 85% solo missions if you log in open or private the board should be 85% wing. Or pick your % you think it should be. Also payment/reward shouldnt change if you do it in a wing or solo.

I think Wing missions belong in their own separate section, for the same reason Passenger missions get one. They're a special interest item.

With the exception of possibly combat wing missions, I am led to believe Wing missions are doable solo... whether they are worth the effort is another matter entirely.

I do not disagree that Wing missions should have probably been put into their own section though.

I'm not sure what you are even asking? For solo missions to be as lucrative as wing missions? More lucrative? That's just how you get wings back to doing solo missions separately. They'll go where the biggest rewards are. You can't have it both ways.

Having to wing up for a mission is an inconvenience, if you think about it, makes sense it would have bigger payoffs.

There really needs to be some love given to Solo players as well. A lot of "features" that have been introduced into the game with updates are multipew only- which Solo players gain absolutely no benefit from whatsoever. Allowing NPC's to stand in as a "wing mate" would help to assist with this- or even NPC multicrew, etc. but it would also need careful balancing to ensure players aren't simply "botting" their way through game progression.

Frontier is trying every possible method to get group play, and bring in more players, regardless of the effects on solo players. It is deliberate, and they want the numbers, even if it costs them in the long run.

The problem is that high tier rewards (such as Excquisite Focus Crystals) seem to be no longer available in solo missions, but only in wing missions, now.

OP. Yes, I think the missions need balancing between wing and non-wing. That said, you can totally do wing missions as a solo player. The other night I did a winged assassination mission and I've also done some haulage.

I think the game caters very well for lone players. I think though that there is one question here that FDev need to answer. Why are there wing missions on the board in solo mode? This definitely needs to be looked at because it makes little to no sense at all.

Not sure if someone mentioned it, but there's an easy way of both giving players sufficient amount of missions they want at the moment, as well as stressing off mission generation system.

Put separate mission boards for each type.
Passenger Lounge for passenger missions? Check.
Tactical Room for winged missions? Not there - put it in.
Planetary Operations for surface missions? Not there, put it in.
Miner's Cantine for mining missions? Not there, put it in.

Let players decide what they want to do, then employ mission generation system to act accordingly and in a focused manner, instead of each time generating missions which 99% of are rejected anyway.

Oh, and you may also address board-flipping at the same time ;)

I've been trying to do cargo run missions lately and have given up on them.
Over 75% of the cargo delivery missions I found were wing mission.
Wing missions should really not appear in Solo mode or at least at a significantly reduced rate.

What sort of wing missions do you mean? If you mean the delivery ones, then sure I'm with you on that one. 2500 units when the biggest ship I have is a Python - ermm no thanks!

...however, if you mean the assassination missions - they are pretty easy (provided you have synthesis for your ammo due to the Condas/Corvettes' SCBs). I use a Vulture & completed 4 Elite wing missions this morning...they are usually 5-6 moderately engineered ships.

The only mission I didn't manage to complete was one with six ships - my target being a Corvette with wing mates inc an Asp & 2 Vultures, this was bad enough but an enemy sent against me in the system jumped in at the beginning too - a deadly FDL! I used up two lots of standard ammo on that Corvette and its shield never came close to cracking - this example matches up well with my experience with regards to PvP Corvettes...I then ran because I'm not wasting too many valuable mats on ammo, that's for sure! I'd rather FD reduced the damage & give us the ammo to finish a fight!

I'm absolutely loving this addition to the game - I would like SJA to 'up' the difficulty a touch, since I have only managed about 20hrs play in the whole of 2018 so far, after a few months break before that; hence I'm a bit rusty atm. God help those terrorists when I get my eye in! ;)
