Frontier, you have a major problem:

Let's just start throwing the names of random ED "celebrities" around and wonder what would happen if they got bored of the game...

The names will be spoken when they *do* quit.

These are not "Steam Numbers". These are the developers who do Frontier's work for them, even if you do not use their tools.

Taking a break isn't that big a deal no matter if you have a YouTube channel or not. It is not only normal for people to move on but also healthy to take a break.

I'm finishing off my fleet from the changes from 3.0 and I'm going to be taking a very long break as 3.0 has really feels like a lot of the 'improvements' coming are not going to be improvements at all. Notoriety is embarrassing.

Guy gets burned out playing a game he enjoyed for quite awhile. Since the game has no actual end, everyone at some point simply quits playing, and since people rarely quit something they enjoy doing, that means that most people have and will quit when it is no longer enjoyable.

Hard to see where the story is here.

And I would be very surprised if this guy doesn't return to ED at some future point.

Everyone eventually does. ;)

Don't see how one or two players feelings would be indicative of how the entire player base feels. Regardless how how popular they are or how long they've played the game.
Either way, I'm not going to worry about it.

I agree, but it won't stop me playing a game I enjoy because I can't get a guardian power plant or weapon.

Me neither. I think sometimes there are just too much drama attached to all this (thus me trying to move more in lore posting, unsuccessfully)

The two aren't mutually exclusive. The title of this thread absolutely is clickbait.

Mods, please change the name of the thread to:"Significant Third-Party Developer Abandons Program Annd Game, Citing Poor Gameplay"

Thank you.

Obsidian Ant: I am sorry if this thread title is inappropriate. I was simply trying to compare relative levels of public recognition. If I have offended, I apologize.

I'm just here for the Obsidian Any reply.

"Hey guys, and gals. Shut the up and don't speak for me. Go check out my YouTube and as always I'll catch you guys, and gals next time."

(no disrespect. I love OA and have caught his twitch stream on a few occasions)

Well, there are a ton of people who use the EDDI app. The original developer of it, jgm, has not been active in quite some time due to burn out, and yet the app lives on. It continues to be developed by others who chose to pick it up.

So ant needs a break...we all need a break now n then...as fer utilities and third party apps...never used them dont even know what half of them are called...hasnt stopped me playing though ^

Nope, he's not talking about me. Thread it about someone else - just happens to have my name in title for some reason.

(Not that I disagree with the premise, as the original post raises valid points, but I'm not fed up with things yet).

Who was this guy? Captains-who-what-now? Gotta love it when prima donnas have a melt down and people think they are somehow important. I reckon the game's going in the right direction broadly speaking. I've almost got my DBS set up again and in the mean time I had fun ing about in the Almost-good-Chieftain. Soon it will be business as usual +1ing on unsuspecting gankers during gank attempts and shooting peoples fsd's out at 5k. Ho-hum. Nothing to see in this thread, tbh.

It's not offensive, it just comes across as clickbait and sensationalist nonsense.

I believe you. But, Captain's Log was a one man band, that accomplished a great deal. ED Discovery is also a great tool. I use both. I use CL to track my alt account (which I also do in EDD).

I'm taking a break from the game too. But that's mainly as I only have proper use of one hand at the moment due to a rather abrupt end to a motorcycle ride... :D I hope the game is still around in a few weeks...

Thank You, Sir.

Your being fed up was not my assertion. You are the most balanced of the video observers of Elite.

I was simply trying to make a comparison. Again, I sincerely apologize if I have offended, or made a mistake in referencing you.

Oh you mean like hundreds of other "the problem with the game is ...." and "game is dying because..." etc. ;)

Yeah, I do agree when I read the thread title I had to double-take on the name because I felt like someone might have hacked Ralph's account... LOL

Obsidian Ant himself has replied, and is not offended. I have apologized twice.

What else do you wish me to do? I have formally asked for the thread's name to be changed.

I think that covers any mistake I have made in the original thread title. You are entitled to your own opinion, of course.

Wouldn't be the first time... :(
