Frontier, you have a major problem:

Here's an idea that Frontier should think about. How about having NPCs you can chat with that can give you hints and information how to do things and where to get things? Instead of having to rely on the forum, wiki, and google to know where to get Rabbit Lure Enhancers and Fiddle Grind Modifiers, go to some mysterious librarian somewhere in a system and ask and he/she can give you a hint wrapped in a mystery and stuffed in an enigma and you at least have something to go on. And with the updates and changes to the game through the seasons, I'm not sure the information I get is correct anymore. Was it in a system at war, conflict, or face slapping contest where I could find the Flappity-Flop Capacitor? IF some shaman in the game knew the answer and I could get there and ask, but have to solve a riddle to get it, that would be more interesting than switching screen to Google once again.

I haven't even tried the new Ram Tah mission simply because I'm not sure which thread, post, forum, page, website that can give me the best answers and comprehensively. Obviously, I won't get the answer in the game itself.

I don't know if I'd call it a major problem just yet, but I am seeing a slow shift in attitude around here. People I thought would never criticize the game are starting to put down the rose tinted glasses.

OA says that your confession of guilt is all he needed to now chase you through the galaxy, harvesting a never ending blood libel.

(He didn't actually.. but you never know)

Indeed. The white knights are becoming an endangered specie, and we have a long term critical supporters / suggestion posters great dieoff.

Everything is fine. Sing after me :

"The grind is in the mind, just use your imagination..."

Have you reached the edge of your flat earth again?

Funny you should mention that. That was recommended to me on YouTube today for some inexplicable reason.

What has this world come to? [downcast]

I'm pretty much bailing on the game too.
I'd like to play, but there's nothing to do in this game.
Well... nothing that would be interesting. Everything is some form of repetitive grind.

Absolutely correct. I'm not saying OA is going to quit. It was a comparison, not clickbait.

If children learn about what clickbait is, the teacher shows them your headline. Pretty much prototype.

Does OA know and approve of the (ab)use of his name? ...edit: nvm, just read OA´s answer and realized the title was changed.

Who is Genar-Hofoen?

For those of you who don't know, Gennar, the author of the quoted post, is one of the most popular third-party developers. Captain's Log is the utility he writes.

When *he* gives up, that means a lot of the hidden infrastructure, that makes the game playable for more than a few, goes away.

This is a serious wake up call for Frontier.

I have.

and...

What has Obsidian Ant anything to do with this topic ?

Because when *he* publicly gives up on the game, it's the band on the Titanic .

Genar-Hofoen = Obsidian Ant?

I am really confused as to exactly who *he* is?

I'm really confused, as to how so many community members, can seemingly step over a good point.

I think the Quislings have journeyed straight through cognitive dissonance, and ended up bewildered at deliberate intransigence on this one.

Everyone will burn out eventually. I took a fairly lengthy hiatus from the game, but now I'm back and enjoying it thoroughly again.

This just sounds like burn-out to me, and therefore not really such a big thing tbh. Variety is the spice of life after all.

Guys and Gals .. it's worse than you think! .... I'm taking a break from ED .. I just thought I would inform you all as Frontier will have to close their offices now.

As I said earlier in the thread, of course some people will burn out after putting 100s and 1000s of hours into a game. It's perfectly natural. I think the only reason I haven't burned out is because I regularly alternate between different games and hobbies.
