Issues With Docking The Alliance Chieftain

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post in, but I am having issues when docking the AC which I do not have with any other craft.

I find it extremely difficult to align with the blue target on the docking pad. There just seems to be far less leeway/tolerance than with other craft, almost like trying to hit a tiny sweet spot.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Not really, at least for me, its just as easy as any other small craft, maybe try lifting the nose a little bit. Although I have noticed other quirks with the ship, i.e. the Interdictor, I notice that it is not aligned properly yet, for one thing, the cross hairs are below the line of sight of the pilot, which is fine, but to get the white circle to light while moving it on the targeted ship, you have to aim it below and a little to the left, I find that disconcerting, but have learned to adjust it and haven't lost a interdiction yet because of it, cept when I slam into a planet in the middle of the interdiction or something like that. Rule of thumb, wait til they move away from a planet before you start the interdiction. But I figure this is a minor issue which may or may not be fixed at some time. But the ship is so maneuverable it makes it easy to pick up mats with the scoop, so quick, and you can be a bit sloppy lining up the target in the scoop, that's always nice. I even overshot some mats, I put on the brakes and go in reverse and have even picked up mats while in reverse.

The shape of the Chief is a bit forward leaning in the hologram, might need to level out a bit.

I had noticed it was a bit more like docking a Cutter than a Python tho.

She's a beauty tho, ain't she? Lotta fun to fly too. I would actually LOVE to see a Scout variant with less warmonger module space and more final frontier tendencies.

It's definitely more awkward to dock than my Cobra III and Vulture, but I think I have found the knack, just slam the thing down hard in the blue target zone seems to work better. Love the ship but I got OWNED today by FOUR npc's on a simple black box mission 2 levels above me, they blew me apart so fast I was shocked, even more shocked at the 3.4M CR buyback. Cruel game.

Good job you are not playing "Iron Man" rules then. ;)

With the Chieftan though, what you can't outfight, you can just outrun, of course, after all the engineer upgrades. I don't sweat 3 on 1, maybe gets hairy with 4 on 1 unless they are small ships, but 1 big and 2 small ships, no problem, 3 big ships, forget about it, time to outrun em. Engineered shields are ok, but it is still a medium ship and they don't hold forever, even with the scbs recharging them, but I can take down Elite Anacondas with ease, 3 beams (lge, med, small) and 3 MCs (large, 2 smls), efficient on beams and overcharged on MCs, makes a nice package without much of a drain on the PD, can usually get their shields down with the beams on one allotment of the PD with 3 to 3.5 pips to wpns, then the MCs finish the job. Can't wait til they fix the targeting issue though, cause right now, shooting down their power plant does nothing to the NPCs, they can keep firing and maneuvering with a 0% power plant.
