Griefer Warning - Guardian ruins sites

PSA, if your ship gets toasted while you’re cruising around in your SRV, log out and log in without horizons. Your ship will magically put itself back together just outside the planet with you safely inside.
Here’s what we need to do otherwise. Have some people watch the ships. If a ganker shows up keep them busy. Have someone in an SRV always have a Thargoid probe handy. A ganker shows up, pop that bad Larry out of your cargo hold and it’ll whale shout them into oblivion, sending their ship spiraling into the planets surface. If that doesn’t kill the ship they’ll at least think twice about sticking around.

Not a bad idea.

Yeah yeah, I guess it was a given to happen, but it is sad to see one bad apple cause such a disturbance in what was serene cooperation so far. Met a lot of really cool people out there and not a single incident, actually realized that MP games can be relaxing to play, too.

Oh right, you don't fit useful FSDs to your ships, and there are no stations to transfer too. :p

We would love to fit useful FSDs to our ships, unfortunately they don't exist, though, because FDev decided we must not have a useful jump range. A maxed FSD with the new engineering system is giving my Vette a whopping 16 ly range. Certainly an improvement over the 14 ly it had before... not enough to visit a guardians site with it any time soon, though, sorry. ;)

As an aside, I was parked at the ruins yesterday when a Mostly Harmless DBX landed beside me and sent me a message saying "Are you Dangerous?"
I replied saying "No, I'm only competent but I am Elite on my other ID, if that helps"
The DBX took off and disappeared. Obviously didn't understand British humour :)

Lol...

Thanks for the heads up OP. Unfortunately, has turned into another griefing thread. Takeway:

- All players should dismiss their ships to be safe.
- Waste of time trying to explain to griefers why their attention seeking antics are childish. It's like trying to tell your pet not to roll in bird poo.

That wouldn't happen to be the same PvPers who have spent the last few weeks in Solo gathering mats and re-engineering their ships, would it? ;)

Not that it has anything to do with my point...

And why shouldn't PvPers use other modes to gather? The people doing that probably figure after three years "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!"

I think they're asking for consistent RP, not for the shooter to make up a new one for every scenario. One is playing a role, the other is creating an excuse.

An excuse is all they need. In fact, they don't even need that.

Anyone genuinely role playing the idea that messing with Guardians tech will make us a target for Thargoids is well within their rights to shoot at people.

Ah but our Supreme Protector of the Guardians wasn't shooting at people (cos they might shoot back), he was shooting at empty ships (that can't shoot back) :D

Anyone genuinely role playing as per my previous post is perfectly entitled to shoot an unmanned ship.
