An exploit is a gap in the programming allowing one to skip 'content'.
An opportunity is taking advantage of an exploit in lieu of 'content'.

I guess one could jury-rig a Cutter into a makeshift combine harvester. The most expensive combine harvester in galactic history, mind.
There are also fun parts of the game that can lose you money. When money comes an issue it can really hamper your options in a bad way.
I can't think of any part of the game except PVP that would cost you money.

You forgot about PowerPlay Preparation, Expansion and Fortification.
Depending on your in-game activities, these have the potential to be far more costly than PvP.

Yes, being stupid costs money. That isn't an excuse for using exploits, though.

If you grind them, yes. But inherently they don't cost you a dime.
Please don't confuse my facetiousness with support for exploits!

Here is a novel thought, why not just focus on playing the game the way you enjoy instead of being bent out of shape about your credits per hour?
Making credits is easier than ever in ED; without trying, I made 40 mil in around 4 hours last night, just playing the game with no regard for the credits possible. At least an hour of that was spent chasing nickel in an srv, just picking up any cargo containers or scanning various items as I came across them.

Every time I try to say something like this, I get "Don't tell me how to play the game!" response.
...and then they're off to find someone to tell them how to play the game with as much money and as little fun as possible.

They WANT to play at having everything... maybe we should just talk frontier into giving everything away for free... then the kiddos get bored and go play GTAV and complain on that forum. WIN/WIN!

Guess you've never been above Rating 2 or 3 then.
I spent half a year at R5 with ALD and made awesome money out of it.
Griefers are rare on all platforms. I'd say is one in a thousand on PC (from my own experience), but I do believe consoles have a little bit healthier community.

Don't call them murder, just suspect, per 'user agreement'. When someone has to fine tune the 'terms' really means stay away from me.
