I decided 'Decrypting the Guardian Logs' is not worth it.

I think having objectives for each individual site, and awarding the 100 million as a bonus for visiting them all, would have been more engaging. (But I do appreciate the devs giving us another thing to do.)

Blindly swapping artifacts in and out of my cargo hold over all the sites, is hardly worth 100 million. I could make 100 million in 2 days moving passengers, if I applied myself. I hope the materials gathering from those sites, proves more lucrative.

Just my $0.02.

The whole Guardian kerfuffle introduced in 3.0 is not worth it.

One unit of data per drop (and unlike other datapoints, this is intended for Guardian data!!!) when you require 8-10 per blueprint? And the resulting module is not engineerable and generally worse than standard one in every field except big thargoid killing? LOL. FD can do their "amazing and awesome" quests themselves.

I've decided I'll ignore all this new alien stuff (except thargoid Scouts, these are cool!) and let the plot train follow its route. Choo choo.

I'm loving the Guardian log mission. Am halfway through the 101 scans and thoroughly enjoying hunting down sites, then crawling round the ruins looking for active obelisks, deciphering the artefact codes then scurrying back to my DBX to fetch the required ones. It's a nice addition to the ED gameplay.

But, if it's credits you're after, then you're best off finding employment back in the bubble...

Have fun doing the whole Guardian Structure thing TWELVE times to obtain the Guardian weapons.

No thanks.

Not to mention that the "so-called" 30 day mission disappears from your Transaction Pane in 7 days! Taking all your progress along with it!

I can't squeeze two fingers together tight enough to demonstrate how little motivation I have left to start that tedious process all over again from scratch!

[rolleyes] [down] [down]

[wacky] [rolleyes] [wacko]

Glad to hear that you and that other guy who found this fun are enjoying yourselves. ;)

The mission is really not about the money. I wouldn't mind it being more lucrative but I'd love it even more if it was easier to complete. After collecting 11 scans from 3 sites I got fed up with swaping the items in the SRV.

Make sure you finish it within seven days of accepting the mission, because it vanishes from your list after seven days and you then have to start over, due to a bug.

Good luck.

I thought that the constant CGs for unlocking the AX weapons was unimaginative but the absurd grind for the Guardian weapons is even worse.
Such a shame, the Guardian Structures are very well made and very atmospheric, this grind takes away all shine of the place and any reason to ever go back there.

Half the community is jumping up and down demanding that FDev introduce more complex and engaging mission activities.

FDev oblige and the other half of the community jump up and down demanding simpler missions.

I love this place

Oh, we totally support more engaging mission activities.

What we're against is stupid grind that is masked for "more complex and engaging mission activities".

So how would you define the difference between the two?
From what I've seen, the line seems to be drawn purely in terms of credits/hr. I'm not saying this is the case with you, just a general feeling from the forum as a whole.

OP, the mission is fine and really fun...
The problems are the modules, they are weak, non-enginnerable and really are not a adiction to anything ( We can exclude the cargo corrosion rack, those really improve the ammount of corrosive load each ship can carry)

I dont know if someday we will can enginner those stuff, until that day unlocking this stuff are really a time sink for nothing has a result.

Doing all activities at the Guardian Structure to obtain materials for the weapons was extremely cool, I loved the place, mysterious, atmospheric.
Having to do that twelve times over is not very engaging imho, it turns it into a boring grind and takes away all the shine of these beautiful constructed sites.

I have to agree that 12 times seems excessive - probably half that number would be reasonable.

Edit:
Maybe 4 times, if you had to visit 4 different sites, rather than just doing the same one over and over.

I don't bother with spoon-fed content like Thargoids or Guardians. There should be discoveries to be made in ED without FD injecting Galnet news (etc.) with info giving alien locations away. :)

Spoon fed, thats just a ignorant statement, the alien stuff is some of the most cryptic stuff in the game. Just so happens theres a lot of smart people applying themselve to it to figure it out.
