Question about fighter crew and Colonia.

Hello people. I'm about 5000ly out in my exploration vette and after spotting a cool looking moon I thought I'd zip around in the fighter, only to realise I forgot to bring my crew member. Anyway since I'm heading in Colonia's direction does anyone know if I'll be able to pick up my co-pilot there? I really don't want to turn back. I'm guessing (hoping) I can because obviously you can get them at any station in the bubble. Just wondering if it's the same at Colonia.

Plenty of crew to be hired out here. We've got most of the modern facilities nowadays, and I think every station has a crew lounge.

...but if you're only 5kLY out so far, you could stop off at Rohini and pick someone up there.

You don't need your crew if you're just exploring. Just hop in your SLF and your mothership will either follow or hold position, on your order.

The only thing that is different without the crew member is that your mothership will not fire weapons/heatsinks, and if you switch back to the mothership, the SLF will follow/hold but it will not dock on its own. You will have to dock it.

Just don't get carried away and let your vette follow you through canyons, as it isn't as adept at staying clear of walls as your crew member may be.

Nope! Just give the 'Follow Me' order and stay within 30Km and you're good to go! (Though I believe that this is the default...I never have to actually give this order unless I've previously ordered it to hold position.)

I use my SLF for geyser hunting when exploring and usually run ahead to scout canyons or "orbit" the mothership in expanding rings. My mothership is painfully slow, so I rarely have to give the hold order.
