I decided 'Decrypting the Guardian Logs' is not worth it.

Alternatively you could just get a life. :D

It's a major grind fest. For those who don't want to grind, why not just make all these Guardian things tradeable. Swap out something for Guardian stuff via a Broker, job done. I certainly do not wish to spend hour upon hour doing something just to unlock what is the "achievement".

Some people can only play a few hours a week max.

You could have the mats for the gauss cannon in two hours, even less but trying to be fair,if you wanted. Not including flight time there and back. I got the gauss cannon and the CRCR's in one night. Took 4 hrs but i never have to grind for them again.

To me there is much worse and way more mundane grinds in this game than this one.

For a narrative point of view the repitition does take the shine off the new sites a bit for me. But regarding the grind for the mats i dont think its too bad. The 3 sites named by Ram Tah have everything you need for each currently available module also. Theres plenty of guides now for those who dont want to try solve the puzzle themselves. Literally some of them are so detailed even the densest cmdrs should have it done quickly using them

Wait, mine says 3W 4H 45Min left. So this is going to disappear in 4 hours 45 minutes? God damn I only have 3 more obelisks left to do.

Appearently, some CMDRs got notice in a message from support that it has been fixed server side. I have not seen an official statement on this though.

I find both the old and new gaurdian missions worth doing... for about 3 sites - fly around a bit - gather a few materials - then turn in for between 30-60 mill in cash between the two of them - there are no doubt quicker ways to make money, but I find it quite relaxing - don't think I can be bothered doing either to completion these days though (did original twice when it was first "solved")

thats like true archeology, you find huge treasure some state museum gets it, you get some minor rewards.

welcome to the retardian questline

My copy of the mission displayed roughly the same amount of time remaining too. Right before it vanished without a trace taking all my hours of work/progress along with it.

No one from Frontier has bothered to contact me about losing all my progress on this defective/bugged mission yet.

I think I had pretty okay time at the structures. Lots of pew pew, shooting sentinels, panels, energy pylons, artifact towers, sometimes data spheres too just to be sure. Great archeology. Didn't bother with the mission though, Ram Tah got all the entries already.

I got a reply two days after filing a ticket, with generous credit reimbursement. However, they said they unfortunately cannot restore mission progress.

I took no chances and was able to get the last 3 Obelisks (Sensor + Medusa, Sensor + Probe and Sensor + Link) with 3W 0H 05M left lol.

Great job FDev,give the players who report in a ticket compensation for their time. In the mean time dont even announce to other players that the mission was broke and may disappear.

Another in another long line of communication issues with FDev,only time we get an announcment is the bloody nerfs !!

I dont want compensation for the mission disappearing, just could have done with acknowledgement at the time that it was a problem that could happen which would have saved the confusion.

They really are incompetent in a lot of ways.

Thanks for the timeline. I will go rattle their cage again on Monday.

I started doing Ram Tah's first Guardian mission a few days ago. I am already bored out of my mind with it. At first I thought it was interesting, what with learning about the Guardians and stuff, but now the swapping out of items all the time is just a major grind! I hate grinding of any kind.

I pointed this out to a friend just last night: There has to be a more efficient way of doing this. I am sure that the Guardians didn't haul around 12 big items with them all the time. So, why can't we figure out a way to do it without them?

I am ready to just let the missions lapse and give up on it, I find it that boring.

I need one more stupid Guardian Module Blueprint for the Guardian Powerplant. Guess what drops EVERY time I repeat the dumb "puzzle"? That's right... a Guardian Weapon Blueprint.

I'm waiting until something changes. I'm done with repetitive grinding to bring my ships up to date with engineering I'm not starting more of the same. Like the rank unlock for Fed and Empire hopefully they'll change it eventually or mess things up and make it reasonable for a few weeks.

everyone is doing the same mission, everyone flies the same new ship, around the same repeated 5 station models around the same 5 planet models yet no one has princes lucky on board?

I guess I missed the point how a chain of quests DOESN'T lend itself to those who only play a few hours a week.

I can however, see why the devs don't make things tradeable. Namely, you can always pocketbook your way to the best stuff. A game-wide auction house is a whole other discussion.

After watching Vindicator Jones' latest video on the effectiveness of using these Guardian Weapons against conventional NPCs, I feel even better about my decision to bail on the whole Ram Tah thing.

Not only are these totally ineffective against human ships, the nature of their fireworks show on target contact makes it difficult to see what the heck is even going on with the enemy ship's reaction to the impacts.

I know these are primarily intended as Anti-Thargoid weapons... But there was a lot of claims made that these could be used effectively against conventional ships. Obviously false claims and/or major exaggerations.
